If any provision of this Agreement is invalid, void, or unenforceable, they will be severed and the remaining provisions shall be given full force and effect.

  • Policies and Procedures

No more legalese, but some policies and procedures that you should be aware of.
  • 1. Training Guarantee: In good conscience, and in accordance with the ethics guidelines of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT, apdt.com), we cannot guarantee any results from training as all dogs are different in temperament, behavior, and history. Though training gives you improved control over a dog's behavior, it does not change their personality, cure aggression or anxiety, or guarantee your dog's decision-making skills. We are confident in our methods and will work with your dog with the goal for him or her to have a good understanding of the following obedience commands: sit, down, sit-stay, down-stay, heel, come, place, and door crashing. Every dog accepts training differently. It is critical that you continue to work with your dog regularly and follow the trainer’s instructions. It is also important to understand and accept your dog's personal limitations due to age, breed, personality, history, and potentially other factors.

    2. Potty Training: We maintain a regular potty training schedule for all dogs. For dogs that need improvement in this area, we will advise you on how to proceed at home based on our experience with your dog. Please understand that potty training cannot be completed for you. It must be maintained for weeks, months, or even years at home, based on your dog's individual needs. We cannot guarantee that your dog will never have another accident indoors.

    3. Visiting Your Dog: Visiting your dog during training can potentially break up the careful structure that we strive to maintain. We need your dog’s stay to be free of disruption and inconsistencies, which maximizes their ability to focus and learn in a relatively short period of time. For this reason we strongly discourage visits. However, if you feel a need to see your dog, we can accommodate you. Let us know and we’ll set up an appointment.

    4. Progress Reports: You'll be emailed progress reports detailing your dog’s progress in obedience and manners and well as information on socialization and health. The first report is sent out no later than the first Saturday. The second report is sent out no later than the day before your dog goes home. Reports may go out late in the evening.

    5. Operating Hours & Contact Info: Our service is a 24 hour operation at our home. For this reason, we are careful to observe scheduled office hours to allow for personal time. We respond to calls, texts, and emails only during our posted office hours: Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 10:00am to 4:00pm; Wednesday and Saturday from 10:00am to 1:00pm. We will not be available Sunday or Monday unless you're doing a check-in. Thank you for your understanding!

    6. Checkout Date: Your checkout appointment has been scheduled in advance to enable you to plan ahead and keep that time available. The checkout lesson is 2 hours long for 1 dog, or 3 hours long for 2 or more dogs.

    7. Will Your Dog Listen to You?: You need to practice with your dog and earn their respect. Training isn't a task, it's a relationship. You will already see a change in your dog’s response to you by the end of your checkout lesson. After that, it typically takes a few days to get a good feel for things, and several weeks to really get the hang of it. Results vary widely and cannot be guaranteed. Please contact us with any questions, any time.

    8. Follow-Up Care: In addition to your checkout lesson, you're welcome to return to our location by appointment for the life of your dog for free follow-up lessons. You are also encouraged to call, email, or text us questions or for advice. Lessons may be available in your home if you are within a short travel distance, at our discretion. A travel fee based on driving distance will apply. The minimum fee is $50 - please request a quote. Please understand that we cannot accommodate in-home lessons for all clients and locations.

    9. Vaccinations: Bordetella is required within 1 year for all dogs. Rabies and a combo with Parvovirus and Distemper (e.g. DHLP, 5-in-1) are required to be current within 3 years. It may take up to 5 days for some vaccinations to take effect, so we encourage you to have your dog vaccinated well before check-in. Failure to do so may increase the inherent risk of disease. Note that we cannot be held responsible for any adverse reactions to vaccinations or risk to disease as we take all reasonable precautions.

    10. Flea Control: All dogs are required to be on an approved monthly flea control product. If needed, Frontline Plus is available in a single dose for $21.00, or $16.00 each for multiple dogs. We cannot be responsible for any adverse reaction to this or any other flea control product. Understand that it is still possible that your dog may get fleas or other parasites, as it is possible anywhere. Please refer to the Profile for accepted forms of flea control.

    11. Personal Items: We provide for all of your dog’s needs and do not recommend that you bring any additional personal items. Though we do our best to take care of personal items, we cannot be responsible for damages or loss. Some owners like to leave a small disposable article that smells of home. These items are usually not returned.

    12. Emergencies: We reserve the right to determine if and when it is necessary to seek veterinary care for your dog. Any incurred fees will be applied to your balance, with the exception of anything due to our action or negligence. We will attempt to contact you first when possible, or an emergency contact if listed on the Profile. Our first priority will be to ensure your dog's health and safety before contacting a person.
