  • Here at Banner, we operate a highly successful Plant Hire Business. Our fleet consists of exciting modern machines imperative to building today’s sleek skylines, for construction, development and infrastructure sectors. 

    As an apprentice, you will be enrolled in a blended learning programme where you will gain a Hire Controller (Plant, Tools, and Equipment) NVQ Level 2 in Hire by attending a day release at a leading college.

    Job Summary

    A Hire Desk Coordinator is the crucial point of contact between the customers, the machines, and the workshop. As an apprentice Hire Desk Coordinator, you will learn in-depth technical product knowledge, including machine compliance, an understanding of safe plant operations, familiarity with the hiring process, including the legal and financial complexities of hire operations.

    Responsibilities:

    • Process orders throughout the complete hire cycle, ensuring all legal, health and safety requirements are in place.  
    • Complete contract documentation.
    • Coordinate the timely delivery and collection of the fleet, considering site accessibility and type of equipment.
    • Provide, explain and process hire rates and associated transactions.

    About You

    You will be required to attend college for 12-15 months and achieve a Hire Controller (Plant, Tools, and Equipment) NVQ Level 2 qualification.

    • You will have good communication skills.
    • You will demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

    Qualifications and Education Requirements:

    GCSE’s in English, Maths and ICT at grade 4 (or equivalent) or above are desirable; however, not essential as Functional Skills are offered as part of the Apprenticeship Framework.
