    Membership Application and Agreement
  • Introduction

Rocktown Referral Group was established to assist local businesses in growing their customer base, sharing ideas on marketing, and to share contacts to help grow and develop each other's businesses.

Rocktown Referral Group provides a great opportunity to network with local Harrisonburg and Shenandoah Valley businesses to gain clients and ideas to help sell your product or service.

Rocktown Referral Group meets every Thursday from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m.

    Process of Membership

    1. Any potential member must be in a profession that is not already represented by another member of Rocktown Referral Group.

    2. Any potential member must attend two consecutive meetings before making application for membership. A Membership Application and Agreement can be obtained from the New Member Coordinator(s)

    3. Once application has been made, Rocktown Referral Group officers will bring their recommendation to the group for approval or decline.

    4. Upon approval by the group, membership will be granted and dues will be collected.

    Expectations of Members

    1. Attendance is critical to the overall health of the group and to your success within the group as a member. The more that you put into Rocktown Referral Group, the more you will get out. Members are required to attend 8, approximately two-thirds, of the meetings per quarter. If a member cannot make it to a meeting, that member may designate someone to come in their place to represent them and their business. A substitute can be almost anyone - a client, another business person in the community, an employee, friend, family member, etc. If, in any given quarter within a calendar year, this requirement for attendance is not met, a letter will be sent to that member informing them that if they fail to meet that requirement a second time, within a 12 month period, their membership will be revoked. A revoked member's position will be opened up to other members in that profession.

    2. The sharing of potential leads and referrals is one of the main reasons that the group meets. As the group comes together to share, learn, and build relationships, both personal and professional, it is expected that members will help one another's businesses to grow through the sharing of leads and referrals.

    3. Group members are encouraged to meet together outside of the weekly meetings for One on Ones. One on Ones are times of meeting either in groups of two or more to learn more about one another's businesses and how they can work together.

    4. Group members will have opportunities to share within the group meeting, updating one another about their business, sharing educational moments for the good of the group, and giving the 10-minute presentation.

    5. Membership dues are $100.00 annually. These dues are non-refundable should the memberleave the group for any reason. This fee is used to further market you and your business to thecommunity. The fee may be used for printing costs, website fees and other marketing initiatives. The annual dues amount will be reviewed semi-annually with the right for dues to be adjusted amajority member vote.

    6. Group members should be exclusive to Rocktown Referrals and are not allowed to be a part ofother similarly structured networking groups where only one individual from each profession isrepresented.

    7. Ethical behavior among members and in their profession is expected. Should an ethicalcomplaint arise, the membership committee will review the complaint. If the matter warrantsaction, a vote may be brought before the group. A member may be asked to leave if a majorityvote is received by the group members.

    8. Ethical behavior among members and in their profession is expected. Should an ethicalcomplaint arise, the membership committee will review the complaint. If the matter warrantsaction, a vote may be brought before the group. A member may be asked to leave if a majority vote is received by the group members.
