2023 PLUGS Summit Abstracts
  • Poster Abstract Submission

    Share your lab stewardship experiences by submitting a poster abstract, maximum 500 words. Suitable abstracts include case studies, retrospective and prospective studies describing measurable interventions or process changes, and quality improvement processes – successes and failures are encouraged.

    Please submit abstracts by March 6, 2023 11:59PM PT. Submissions will be reviewed by the CME course committee and you will be notified of the outcome by March 24, 2023.

    The 2023 PLUGS Summit is a hybrid event. Accepted poster abstracts will be presented virtually to attendees via pre-recorded videos and electronic posters. An on-site poster session will also be held June 15-16, 2023 as part of the Summit program in Seattle, WA. Acceptance to the poster session will require presenting authors to register for either in-person or virtual attendance of the PLUGS Summit.

    Please note that opportunities for employees of ACCME ineligible organizations to present a proposal/poster at the PLUGS Summit 2023 are limited. Employees of ineligible organizations* are not permitted to participate in CME-accredited sessions and presentations unless they meet exception criteria outlined in Standard 3.2.

  • Three categories of abstracts will be considered for the 2023 PLUGS Summit. 

    1. Scientific: This category includes hypothesis-driven studies related to laboratory stewardship, and has measurable outcomes.

    2. Case Study: This category is open to case-based observations related to laboratory stewardship.  For example, this category is appropriate to share one-off interventions or good catches related to improving the value of laboratory testing.

    3. Quality Improvement Processes: This category is available for descriptions of systematic process changes related to improving workflows and outcomes related to laboratory testing.  For example, interventions to prevent order errors, streamline workflow, and facilitate case review.
