Students can enter artworks completed in the past twelve months in a year 10/11/12 class.
Presented by University of Tasmania (UTAS); Hadley’s Art Prize, Hobart (HAPH); Art Education Australia (AEA), Tasmanian Art Teachers Association (TATA), the prize includes:
- $500 towards art supplies presented by the University of Tasmania to be redeemed in the State/Territory where the student resides
- The opportunity for the winning student’s artwork to be exhibited at Hadley’s Orient Hotel
- A visit to the UTAS Fine Arts and Design campus at Hunter Street, or the chance to have a virtual meeting with one of the Fine Arts lecturers
- Complimentary 12-month membership to Art Education Australia (AEA)
- The opportunity to have their artwork featured on the cover of a forthcoming issue of the journal Australian Art Education
- A copy of the 2026 Hadley’s Art Prize exhibition catalogue
This prize is judged by art education experts at the University of Tasmania (UTAS) and the 2026 Hadley’s Art Prize, Hobart judges. Judges will consider the Entry’s creativity and technical skill, seeking work that is imaginative or profound in its response to contemporary art themes with a high level of conceptual and practical resolution.
Eligibility:
- Currently enrolled Year 10/ Year 11/ 12 students, who are residents of Australia.
- Entrants must be at least 16 years old.
- Entrants under 18 years old must have their parent’s or legal guardian’s consent to enter this Prize, and we may award any prizes to the Entrant’s parent(s) or legal guardian in our sole discretion.
