What animals can you foster. (Please note, you can specify the number of kittens you are happy to have in care but litters must be kept together)
Please tell us a little about your home and household (ie house, unit, flat, fencing), including ages of any children and where in the home your foster animals would be housed (please note that all kittens and cats must be kept indoors)
Please tell us about any current animals in your home, ie desexing and vaccination status, are they comfortable with other animals, general personalities. (Please note all animals in the foster home must be up to date with vaccinations and desexed)
Have you fostered animals before? If so what animals and with which organisation/s?
Occasionally animals come in to care with minor illnesses. If necessary are you able to keep such animals seperated from your own? If so please describe where in your home this would be. (please note that SGAA can provide crates if required)
Meets and greets and adoptions are mainly carried out at the foster carer's home. Are you comfortable with this?
Are you also able to assist with activities outside of caring for animals, such as adoption days or fundraising events?
Are you able to provide transport for foster animals? (This can include, but not limited to, collecting foster animals and taking them to vet appointments)

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

· I certify that no person residing in the household where the animals will be fostered has ever been charged with or convicted of animal cruelty, neglect or abandonment.

· I agree that I will foster the species of animals I have chosen exclusively for South Gippsland Animal Aid (SGAA). While fostering for SGAA, I will not take responsibility for any additional animals of that species that are not in the care or ownership of SGAA, whether for fostering, rehabilitation, rehoming, temporary care or any other purpose. This does not prevent me from owning and caring for my own personal pets.

· I agree to keep all personal animals with a known or suspected infectious, contagious or communicable disease appropriately separated from SGAA foster animals at all times. I agree to notify SGAA immediately of any known or suspected infectious disease affecting my personal animals that may pose a risk to foster animals and to follow SGAA's biosecurity requirements to prevent transmission of disease.

· I acknowledge that I cannot take animals in to care without first gaining written consent from SGAA committee. I acknowledge that should I take an animal in to care without first gaining writen approval that SGAA will not be responsible for the costs associated with the animal/s and I will not be able to use SGAA platforms to advertise the animal.

· I understand that animals placed in my care remain under the ownership, management and control of SGAA until SGAA authorises their transfer or adoption.

- I agree that every animal I provide foster care for must be physically returned to SGAA by the agreed date or at any time upon the request of SGAA. I also agree to return the animal(s) immediately if I am no longer able to provide adequate care.

· I understand and acknowledge that I do not have any right or authority to keep, adopt, transfer, or place foster animals in other homes or with other individuals without permission of SGAA.

- I further acknowledge and agree that SGAA may require animals in my care to be made available for adoption through SGAA's approved adoption partners or adoption events, where permitted by applicable legislation and SGAA procedures.

· I agree to provide the animal(s) good loving care, including at a minimum: adequate feed, adequate water, adequate shelter that is properly cleaned, adequate space in the primary enclosure for the particular type of animal depending upon its age, size, species and weight, adequate exercise and follow SGAA rules on transportation, and veterinary care when needed. Please note that cats and kittens must remain indoors.

· I agree to keep the committee informed of any medical issues affecting the animals in my care and to provide prompt information regarding any veterinary treatment they require.

· I understand that all veterinary care must be authorised in advance by SGAA. I agree to personally incur the cost for any treatment that has not been so authorised. I agree that any veterinary care will be provided by approved vets as directed by SGAA.

· I agree to provide the appropriate people at SGAA with the necessary information and materials at any time (such as faecal samples or temperature/weight measurements) to enhance the care that I am providing to the foster animal(s).

· I understand that medicines, parasite preventions, food and other supplies provided by SGAA are for use with foster care animals only, and are not to be administered to animals that are not the property of SGAA.

· I agree to comply with all applicable local council registration requirements for any animals in my care and to provide SGAA with any information or assistance required to ensure that animals are appropriately registered or otherwise legally exempt from registration. I understand that SGAA will advise me of any registration requirements that apply to animals in my care.

· I understand that all cats and dogs aged 3 months or more need to be registered with my local council. I understand that this cost will be covered by SGAA but that it is my responsibility to register the animal.

· I agree that I will enter the details of any animals that come in to my care on the required database in a timely manner (preferably within 48 - 72 hours) and will update the animal's profile as required or as requested and within 7 days of adoption.

- I agree to ensure that I comply with all applicable legislative requirements relating to the collection, care and adoption of animals in my care. This includes ensuring that animals are not adopted or transferred in public places unless the location is legally permitted for this purpose.

- I understand that to comply with legal requirements, all animal adoptions must take place at an approved private residence or registered facility. Public hand-overs (including car parks) are strictly forbidden.

· I agree to hold SGAA harmless from any direct or consequential damages arising out of this foster care arrangement.

· I acknowledge that SGAA may terminate this or any other foster care arrangement at any time at its sole discretion. The Rescue Group is not required to provide a reason or justification for such termination. Upon termination, the foster carer must return all animals, equipment, supplies, records, and any other property belonging to the Rescue Group within fourteen (14) days of receiving notice of termination.

Committee will endeavour to respond to your application to foster within 14 days.
