• Unifor National Union and Regional Council Scholarship Application for Unifor Members

  • ELIGIBILITY

    Thank you for your interest in applying for a Unifor Scholarship. The following criteria must be met in order to be eligilbe for one of our Scholarships.

    1. You are a Unifor member in good standing.

    2. You are enrolling in your FIRST YEAR of full-time post-secondary education at a PUBLIC INSTITUTION IN CANADA (university, community college, technological institute, nursing school, etc.).

    3. You are a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada

    4. You must provide a letter of recommendation from a teacher, principal, Unifor or other labour education Discussion Leader, local union committee chair, district labour council, community activist or organization, or a member of your Local Union Executive.

    5. Your application must be submitted using this online application form no later than Firday, June 10, 2022.

    Please Note: The five National and Quebec scholarships are administered by the Quebec Council with a seperate application form (see www.uniforquebec.org). Residents of Quebec must use that application process.

  • Please read the following instructions before you proceed with this application

    You will be required to upload the documents listed below to support your application. They must be uploaded at the time you complete this online application. Please ensure you have the following documents on your device ready for upload:

    • A letter of recommendation;
    • A document containing your answers to the four questions outlined in the scholarship descriptions document;
    • A signed copy of the Local Union Officer form certifying your eligibility for this scholarship found on the Unifor Scholarship page

    Please note that any partially completed applications, or missing any of the required documents, will result in an error message, and cannot be submitted. Please ensure you have all the documents available before submitting.

  • The names of scholarship recipients will be posted on the Unifor national website on or after Monday, August 9, 2021. In order to submit an application, you must check the box below indicating your consent to allow Unifor to include your name on this list if you are awarded a scholarship.
