  • Intro Lesson Payment

    The fee for the intro lesson is $40 (30 minutes), payable via Venmo or PayPal below. Payment for this lesson is due 48 hours before the lesson to hold your spot.
     
    This is an opportunity for us to assess whether I am a suitable teacher for you or your child. Please note that the cancellation policy below applies to the intro lesson and all future lessons.
     
    If we decide after the initial lesson that you would like to continue as an ongoing student, we can determine a schedule for subsequent lessons, and the policies below for monthly payments, make-up lessons, and discontinuing lessons will apply.
     
     
  • Cancellations & Make-up Lessons

    I require 24 hours' notice for a make-up lesson to be considered. Absences due to illness or family emergencies will receive priority for make-up lessons. Absences due to vacations or other reasons will be granted make-ups pending teacher availability.

    Cancellations of less than 24 hours or no-shows will be charged at the full lesson rate. You are responsible for keeping track of your missed lessons and for scheduling your make-up lessons. Make-ups must be redeemed within two months of the absence, and cannot be accrued or redeemed outside of this time period. I will do my best to make up every missed lesson due to illness (mine or yours), with the understanding that this may not always be possible. No reduction in monthly tuition or refunds will be granted for missed lessons.

     
     
  • Payment Method for Monthly Tuition 

    Monthly tuition will be paid via a monthly draft through a PayPal Subscription or  Square (credit or debit card). I will provide a link upon enrollment. Tuition must be paid no later than three days before the first regular lesson. 
    Tuition will be drafted monthly on the same day of each month (the day you first initiate payment). 
     
    Tuition rates are flat monthly- the same rate each month regardless of the number of lesson days in the month. For more information about how rates are calculated, click here.
  • Late payments

    If a payment is received more than 3 days after your due date, a $40 late fee will be assessed, and future lessons may be canceled. Payment must be received in full before resuming lessons. If your lesson time has been filled, you will be offered new times pending instructor availability.

    Discontinuing Lessons- 1 Month Notice Required
     
     
    Under all circumstances, one month's notice is required when discontinuing lessons to allow for an incoming student to fill your spot.
     
    Notice must be given no later than the 1st day of the month on the final month of lessons.
     
    If less notice is given, you will be responsible for a full month’s tuition from the date of your notice, and will be billed accordingly.
     
     
  • You will need to rent a violin from RL Ray Violin Shop.

    • The student must be present for measurements.
    • Optional insurance coverage for the rental is strongly recommended. 
  • The student will need to supply their own violin. 

    Please note the steps below are mandatory prior to the first lesson (No Exceptions)

     

    * The violin needs to be inspected by RL Ray Violin Shop and verified that it's the correct size and is in playing condition prior to the first lesson (The student must be present to be measured). Please also ensure at this time that the student has a proper fitting shoulder rest-ask the shop to help with selection and adjustments.

    *If the shop determines the sizing and/or condition of your instrument are not sufficient, a violin will need to be rented prior to the first lesson.
