Intro lesson (youth)

A deposit lesson ($65) may apply and will be collected at the time of the first monthly payment, in addition to the first month's tuition. This deposit will be returned to you in full when you discontinue lessons, on the condition that you give one month notice prior to departure.

Tuition due dates

Monthly tuition payments are due no later than the 1st of each month. If you are sick or absent during the first lesson day of the month, payment must still be received on time.

Late payments

In the event of late payments (outstanding of 3 days), a $25 late fee will be assessed and the remaining lessons for the month may be cancelled. Payment must be received in full before resuming lessons.

Cancellations & Make-up Lessons

I require 24 hours notice in order for a make-up lesson to be considered. Priority for make-up lessons will be given for absences due to illness or family emergency. Absences due to vacations or other reasons will be granted make-ups pending teacher availability.

Cancellations of less than 24 hours or no-shows will be charged at the full lesson rate. You are responsible for keeping track of your missed lessons and for scheduling your make-up lessons. Make-up's must be redeemed within two months of the absence, and cannot be accrued or redeemed outside of this time period. I will do my best to make up every missed lesson due to illness (mine or yours), with the understanding that this may not always be possible. There will be no reduction in monthly tuition or refunds granted for missed lessons.

If you intend to discontinue lessons at any point, please give one month notice to allow for your spot to be filled by an incoming student. Notice must be given no later than the 1st day of the month on the final month of lessons. If less notice is given, you will be responsible for the full month’s tuition of the month in progress, and will be billed accordingly.

Are you planning on renting a violin?*

You will need to rent a violin from RL Ray Violin Shop.
- The student must be present for measurements.
- Optional insurance coverage for the rental is strongly recommended.
The student will need to supply their own violin.

Please note the steps below are mandatory prior to the first lesson (No Exceptions)

* The violin needs to be inspected by RL Ray Violin Shop and verified that it's the correct size and is in playing condition prior to the first lesson (The student must be present to be measured). Please also ensure at this time that the student has a proper fitting shoulder rest-ask the shop to help with selection and adjustments.

*If the shop determines the sizing and/or condition of your instrument are not sufficient, a violin will need to be rented prior to the first lesson.

Payment Methods for Monthly Tuition

Monthly tution must be paid with one of the following methods:
- PayPal Subscription (I will provide a link upon enrollment): Tuiton will be drafted monthly on the day of the month you first initiate payment.
- Automated Online Transfer: For those who bank with WSECU (or another bank that offers this service) and wish to set up automated electronic monthly transfers, please contact me for my account information.
