    This application will be kept confidential and on file for your term(s) served. The nomination committee will review applications to identify and evaluate potential candidates; a quorum vote will elect all new directors.

  • Position Title:   Member of the Board of Directors

    Compensation: Voluntary 

    Reports To:      Chairman of the Board

     

    The board of directors is legally and ethically responsible for all organization activities.  To that end it:

    1. Determines how the organization will carry out its mission through long and short-range strategic planning
    2. Adopts an annual budget and provides fiscal insight on fundraising initiatives 
    3. Evaluates program performance and overall performance of the organization in achieving the mission
    4. Makes recommendations on the performance of the executive director
    5. Establishes policies for the effective management of the organization
                                              

    Responsibilities:

    • Understand and promote the organization’s mission
    • Be familiar with the organization’s programs, policies, and operations
    • Attend board meetings and appropriate committee meetings
    • Review agenda and supporting documents before meetings
    • Actively participate in fundraising activities and special events
    • Serve a minimum of one (1) two-year term, members may serve multiple terms if re-elected
       

     Time Demands:

    • Attend and actively participate in at least 75% of all board meetings
    • Attend community engagements if time allows  
    • Correspond with communication in a timely fashion 
       

    Financial and Resource Development Expectations:

    • Review and approval for grant proposals
    • Recruit sponsors, as needed
    • Identify and cultivate potential donors
    • Peer to Peer fundraising for scheduled events/yearly contribution
    • Contribute a minimum of not less than $200.00 annually
