MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
WSA COACH EDUCATION TUITION PAYMENT
PURPOSE & SCOPE. WSA and Coach will promote and advocate coach education to further the development and skill sets required to train the youth soccer player. This education includes and is not limited to teaching technique, skills, tactics, physical development, psycho-social skills, emotional skills, injury prevention, injury care, concussion management, motivation, engagement of the parent, education of the parent, understanding of rules of the game, and leadership.
a. Payment Agreement. WSA, “the club”, and the “coach” will agree to pay for a portion or all of coach tuition under the following agreement :
i. Coach Session Reciprocation Agreement. Upon completion of the Coach Education Course, the Coach will offer to run an agreed upon number of sessions in the WSA Academy Style setting to provide demonstration for other coaches, and also to provide instruction for WSA players.
ii. Club Investment Coach Retention Agreement. In exchange for the club paying the tuition for the coach education/course, the coach will commit to coaching for WSA for the rest of the current year of this agreement, the subsequent year, and will potentially commit for an agreed to number of additional years, for sum total commitment of seasonal years to WSA (including the current year) of (agreed to number) years.
b. Coach Agreement Revision Requirements. If, after entering into this agreement the coach chooses to coach for another club (and quit coaching for WSA Soccer) and the new club is within a 50-mile radius of the coach’s WSA home facility, then the coach must seek permission from the WSA Executive Council in writing.
RESPONSIBILITIES. Each Party will assume certain tasks.
a. WSA as Club will remit funds to the coaching course organization to pay for part or all of the cost of the coaching course tuition.
b. The Coach will supply the club with the necessary payment and registration information, name, date, and lcoation of course, and such details needed to remit payment at least 4 weeks in advance of the course deadline.
c. It is permissible, if agreed to, for the coach to pay the course tuition, and seek reimbursement from WSA Club for the portion of tuition agreed to in this agreement.
d. WSA CLUB WILL:
i. Provide the payment
ii. Schedule the Coach in-house sessions to fulfill this portion of the agreement.
e. COACH AGREES THAT COACH WILL:
i. Seek permission through WSA Coaching Directors for tuition scholarship.
ii. Provide information and course details in a timely manner.
iii. Honor commitment to coach for WSA Club for the current year, the subsequent year, and the number of additional years required per this agreement.
Agrees to run sessions (number to be determined and outlined above) for WSA Club in a setting that allows demonstration and modeling for other WSA Coaches and practical instruction for WSA players through the coursework completed.
