    Scotland Loves Local Gift Cards are designed to drive local spend to encourage people to try out new businesses.

    What is the Scotland Loves Local Gift Card
    The Scotland Loves Local Gift Card is a Pre- paid MasterCard which can only be spent in registered businesses. As the payment is a MasterCard transaction, you’ll receive the funds from your acquirer as per your Merchant Acquirer Agreement.

    What will it cost me?
    There are no additional costs to accept the Gift Card, it’s charged at the same rate as a normal MasterCard Debit Card transaction. 

    Next steps
    Once you have completed the form below we will start the registration process which can take up to 5 working days. We will confirm by email when this is complete and will add your business to the Scotland Local website so that cardholders know they can start spending their gift cards with you.

  • Test Transaction

    To finish your registration for the Scotland Loves Local Gift Card you will need to process a Card Holder Not Present Transaction/Payment Link transaction for £1 through the card terminal of your business using the following details below. This transaction will decline. 

    This enables us to pick up your Merchant ID and add it to a list of approved Merchant IDs. You do not need to install any software or additional hardware to accept the Gift Card. If you have more than one merchant ID for multiple terminals a transaction will be required for each merchant ID. 

    Some payment systems, such as iZettle/Sumup,  require you to conduct an online payment. This is a payment link and can be sent to any mobile phone number. Details on this can be found here: iZettle / SumUp

    When processing the declined transaction you may be asked to enter the address the card details provided are associated with. Please use 13 Rose Terrace, Perth, PH1 5HA.
