1. The challenge will start with the Meltdown. Each team will identity 2 athletes to participate in each individual round (2 rounds).  The Meltdown can hold 8 participants. 1 player from each team can complete at a time.

2. Leaps and Bounds: Each team will identity 1 athlete to participate. 8 rounds total. Leaps and Bounds has 3 giant balls to cross.

3.Fun Derby: Each team will identity 1 athlete to participate in their round - 3 rounds total.  The Fun Derby can hold 3 participants. 1 player from each team will complete during their assigned derby.

4.Hungry Hippo Chow Down: Each team will identity 2 athletes to participate in each individual round (4 rounds The Chow Down can hold 4 participants. 1 player from each team will complete every other time.

5. Tug of War: Good ole fashioned Tug of War Bracket. 3 rounds to identity the winning

6. 3-Legged Race: 2 participants have one leg each tied together as they race to the next

7. Beach Ball Carry: 2 participants carry and balance a beach ball between themselves without using their arms or hands as they race to the next obstacle.

8. Manual Wheelbarrow Race: 2 participants; one carries the other's feet while the 2nd participants walks on their hands to the next obstacle.

9. Sack Race: 2 participants; the race ends when 1 person hops to meet the other person

GOOCHLAND DAY FOUNDATION, YMCA, AND THE COUNTY OF GOOCHLAND, VIRGINIA

PARTICIPANT RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY

Each participant must agree to the Participant Release and Waiver of Liability for Goochland Day Foundation, YMCA, and The County of Goochland, Virginia before participating in Goochland Games.

I hereby execute this Release and Waiver of Liability and agree to the following terms for Goochland Games held on May 7, 2022 at the Goochland Sports Complex:

 1.      Goochland Games Participant (“participant”) understands that he/she will not receive any monetary compensation for participating.  Participant understands that there will be a small grab bag for the team to share however is not creditable for any other participant benefits.

 2.      Participant releases and waives any and all claims or causes of action against Goochland County, the YMCA, and Goochland Day Foundation (GDF), its divisions and subdivisions, including but not limited to its agents, staff, volunteers and employees (collectively the “County”) for injuries, damages, losses and expenses arising out of Participants participation and engagement in any activity associated. Participants understands that Goochland Games activities may be hazardous or strenuous. Participants hereby expressly and specifically assumes the risk of injury or harm while engaging in Goochland Games activities.  

 3.      Participant agrees to indemnify and save harmless, the County, YMCA. and GDF from any and all claims or causes of action which Participant may make or which might be made on behalf of Participant, or which might be made against the GDF, YMCA, the County by others, arising from or related to participant activities, including but not limited to death, injury, pain and suffering, medical costs, lost wages, destruction of property, attorneys’ fees and legal expenses.

 4.      Participant agrees to wear appropriate family friendly and team attire, including footwear, as may be specified in the Goochland Games Rule Book, and agrees to follow all applicable safety guidelines.

 5.      Participant agrees to intentions to neither harm, hinder, nor cheat during their competing time or another teams time while participating in Goochland Games.  Participant will also be mindful of their language while competing and will keep the games “family friendly”. 

 6.      The participant will be in their right mind (negative any substance) and in good health.  

 I DO HEREBY ACKNOWLEDGE MY PARTICIPATION IN GOOCHLAND GAMES 2022 HELD MAY 7, 2022.

IF PARTICIPANT IS UNDER THE AGE OF 18, PARTICIPANTS PARENT/ LEGAL GUARDIAN MUST SIGN.  PLEASE NOTE, ALL ACTIVITIES ARE NOT FOR CHILDREN; PARENTAL DISCRESSION IS ADVISED.
