*Studio:
-Due to limited space, please ask ahead of time before bringing a plus one.
-Shop is SHOES-OFF to keep it a clean environment. You are welcome to bring house slippers or rock your socks, whatever is comfortable for you.
-Payment must be made immediately after the appointment, by cash. Please be sure you bring enough cash for your payment, before your appointment.
Deposits:
-Deposits are non-refundable, and range from $150-$300
-Deposits can be e-transferred to inknectar@gmail.com
-Full days (5-7hrs) require a $300 deposit to book and are non-refundable.
-Rescheduling without minimum 72-hour notice will result in the loss of your deposit and a new deposit will be required to rebook. This also applies to no-shows.
-Clients have a 2x reschedule grace, if you reschedule 3+ times, you'll forfeit your deposit and will need to leave a new one. This does not apply to those who give me 7 days or more notice. So please try and let me know ahead of time if you need to reschedule. I'm generally very understanding<3
-If you choose to cancel, you will forfeit your deposit.
-For multiple session-pieces, your deposit comes off your last appointment, no exceptions.
-Deposits will come off the total cost of your tattoo and are taken for the artists’ protection. Deposits are never kept as a trade for artwork (i.e.- you can’t have your artwork if you decide not to get the tattoo even though you paid a deposit. The artwork is done under the assumption the tattoo will be executed.)
-If you change your mind on a drawing a new deposit will be required, so make sure you have all your details decided and communicated before you leave a deposit. Minor changes are fine.
-It is the responsibility of the client to book multiple-appointment pieces ahead of time to avoid long waits between sessions.
-Deposits will be forfeited in the event that you do not have proper photo ID with you at the time of your appointment, if you are more than 15 minutes late or if you mix up your appointment time.
Quotes:
Quotes given are “estimates” based on size, location, detail, etc. Every person’s skin is different and for this reason quotes are only ballpark figures. Giving quotes for things like back pieces, chest pieces, sleeves and large rib pieces is very difficult. A fair average for back pieces and sleeves are around 30+ hours.
The sketch piece will be available to view the night before your appointment but sketches are shown on an angle or generally very rough but you will see the cleaned up version on your appointment. This is to avoid artwork being stolen.
Touch-ups and Cover-ups:
-Clients will receive 1 free touch-up, if booked within three months of your appointment. After that there will be a regular hourly charge.
-Fingers, palms, feet and small hand tattoos do not get a free touch up, as these locations have a tendency to fade and do not heal up as well as the rest of the body. Please take note of this before booking for these placements.
-Most cover-ups require more than one session to get rid of the old tattoo. This is because the old tattoo usually comes through the cover-up a bit after it’s healed. Because of the layering nature of cover-ups, clients will be charged our regular hourly rate for touch ups on cover-ups (as well as white-out sessions prior.)
Appointment Information:
The shop is CASH ONLY, so have it with you before your appointment.
-You have to be 18 with ID.
-If you have a full day booked and do not intend to sit for the full 5-7 hours, please let your artists know a week ahead of time otherwise you will be charged for the time you booked.
Do not consume alcohol, aspirin, or any other blood-thinning agents within 48 hours of your appointment. This includes supplements like Ginkgo Biloba, Echinaecca, Cold medicines like Cold FX, Energy Drinks like Redbull and Monster, Metabolism boosters like Ephedrine and Slim Down. They expand your blood vessels and result in excessive bleeding. This will make it very difficult to tattoo and not only will you be suffering, but your wallet as well, as tattooing will take longer. In some cases, we will need to reschedule, as the blood is pushing out the ink and we can no longer continue for the day.
You must eat before your appointment. Bring some snacks and juice if you have a longer session. It is very important for your blood sugar to be up.
***My favourite tip: Apple juice is a natural blood-coagulant so drink lots the day before and the day of your tattoo.***
You should not get a tattoo two weeks prior to traveling, camping, swimming, hiking, beaching, tanning, or any other circumstances that involve sun, water, dirt or sweat. These conditions are not ideal for healing.
It is very important to wear clothing that will make the tattoo area accessible, so please consider your wardrobe that day. If you’re not sure what works, feel free to ask. Tank tops work good for shoulder/arm tattoos and tank tops with straps that you can take down or halters are good for shoulder blades. Your clothes may get ink/blood on it. Do not wear tight clothes that will restrict the area after wrapping. Do not wear tight pants if you are getting a lower back tattoo.
You cannot get a tattoo if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, and it is unwise to get a tattoo if you are sick as you need your immune system to heal.
Please notify your artist upon leaving a deposit if you have any allergies, skin or health conditions that may affect the process and/or your ability to get tattooed or heal a tattoo. For example, we cannot tattoo on areas that exhibit symptoms of psoriasis or eczema, or have exhibited in the past.
Plan enough time in your schedule to be at the studio for an extra half hour outside your appointment time, or an hour or more extra for larger pieces. Prep time, stencilling, breaks and clean-up time adds up.
Shower prior to your appointment as you may not be able to again until the day after your appointment.
Please moisturize and exfoliate the area to be tattooed for at least a week in advance. This will make your tattoo go easier and faster.
If you have a lot of body hair in the area of the tattoo, please shave before your appointment. Just don’t nick yourself, get razor burn, or use any chemical depilatories or wax.
Please ask first to bring any guests.
Sorry no children in the studio.
Longer sessions are exhausting so eat and sleep well before your appointment and take your vitamins. Staying hydrated the week before will also help with your tattoo process and the healing.
You cannot get tattooed if you have a sunburn (even a mild one) so stay out of the sun.
Cell phones must be turned OFF or put on silent during your appointment.
Feet, Hands, Neck, Knees, Knee-pits, Elbows and the Ditch (inside elbow):
The above locations are difficult to tattoo, painful, and very difficult to heal. You will not be able to move or use these body parts normally. You may have to take time off work and not bend your arm if you are getting your elbow/ditch or hands tattooed. You will not be able to wear regular footwear or perhaps even walk if you are getting extensive work on your feet due to swelling. Please have appropriate footwear before your appointment and we thank you to wash your feet when you get here. Tattoos done on these areas almost always need touch ups due to their hard-to-heal nature.
