The Humanities PhD Program at Concordia is highly innovative and interdisciplinary. This also means that the application process has more components and steps than typical PhD programs, e.g., you need to secure support of a three faculty member committee, consisting in a Major Field Supervisor (who will be your PhD supervisor) and two Minor Field Advisers. The members of your committee will administer comprehensive exams and be involved in your thesis proposal and defence, and be involved in the process of your thesis writing and defence. The application to the program also requires submission of a detailed proposal, and other elements as well if you are proposing a research-creation project.
To assist applicants with the application process we hold an online application workshop in fall, the date is to be announced.
If you are applying for this deadline, and are finding this form after the workshop has been held, please see the slides from that workshop, plus our program planner, a key document for students in the program that will help you understand the structure and requirements of the program. You can still enter the information below; if there are any mass updates that we have for applicants, you will then be included in the mailing.
If you are finding this form before the workshop and are interested in attending it, please fill in your contact information below, and tell us a bit about your interest in the program. We will send you two emails, acknowledging receipt of this form, another with information about the workshop.
