PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Please provide an overview of your project. For 2023, Illuminate the Night installations will be located outdoors in locations in or near Winnipeg's Exchange District.

Include program type, title of show, mediums, number of pieces, dimensions, optimal space and facilities requirements, technical requirements, necessary amount of time for install and dismantle, level of required technical and production support, etc. Include anything which will contribute to a clear and complete visualization of how the exhibit or event will be produced and be presented to the public.

TIMELINE & INSTALLATION DETAILS

Please include a detailed timeline and all installation details about your project including advance preparation, materials, participants, set-up and take down, power source requirements, etc. (NBW staff will work with the artists selected to find appropriate locations, but please let us know if you have a specific location in mind).

ARTIST BIO

Please attach your Artist Bio and CV, outlining your experience and or involvement in the arts. 

• You can submit a maximum of 10 supplementary materials (8 images and 2 videos / audio links) with this application form.

• If submitting images, please ensure that at least one of the images is a photo, artist rendering or mock up of your project to assist the jury in visualizing your installation.

• All images must be in .JPEG format. Max 1MB for each file. 

• All supplementary materials must follow the same naming convention:

LastNameFirstname(orGroupname)_Illuminate_Title of work_1-8.jpg

e.g. SmithJane_Illuminate_LightuptheNight_2.jpg

• You can submit 2 links to videos or audio works with this application form if relevant to your submission. Provide link and password info below. 

• Support material that shows the proposed work is strongly preferred. If you do not have photos please submit drawings, schematics, etc. 

• You can also submit examples of previous work to enhance your application.

Every applicant to Nuit Blanche Winnipeg's 2023 Open Call must agree to our Code of Conduct.

CODE OF CONDUCT

By clicking submit you agree / understand that:

1. You have the full authority to submit this work for consideration (lead artist / creator) 

2. You have fully completed this application form and attached all appropriate support materials by the deadline.

3. If chosen you will be in Winnipeg to complete set up by 6pm on September 23rd, 2023 and take down of your work after midnight.

4. Nuit Blanche Winnipeg staff will work with artists and venue managers to find the best location for each project selected, and artists are encourgaed to explore their own ideas for locations.

5. A portion of the honorarium will be issued once the project is chosen and an agreement is signed and a 2nd portion will be issued after you have shown your work at Nuit Blanche Winnipeg 2023.  

6. You agree to allow bios, project details, and images of you and your work to be used by and publicized as part of Nuit Blanche Winnipeg and Culture Days Manitoba.
