    Any crew members under 13 years of age must be accompanied by an adult either in the same vessel or a partner vessel.

  • TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
    Safety and Risk Warning
    This is a fun activity and you enter at your own risk.

    The Currimundi Catchment Care Group Inc. and the Lights on the Lake Organising Group cannot guarantee your safety. Possible risks include injury and/or drowning, due to being hit by other vessels, objects or paddles, or by falling out of your kayak/canoe/boat.

    Participants enter at their own personal risk and are responsible for their own physical condition.

    Safety Procedures
    Each participant should be a competent swimmer.

    It is strongly recommended that all participants wear a safety flotation device.    

    An adult must accompany children under the age of 12 years either in the same vessel or in a partner vessel. Children under 12 years must wear a safety flotation device.

    Kayaks/canoes are to be paddled in pairs or threes for safety.

    Electric motor tinnies must be skippered by an adult.

    Approximate time to complete the course is 20 minutes for short course, 40 minutes for long course.

    Officials maintain the right to reject or refuse any entry.                                  

    Safety during the Procession
    All kayaks/canoes must have at least one light attached.

    Stay with your partner kayak/canoe.

    If you experience difficulties during the procession attract the attention of the support paddler/ safety boat. Stay in your kayak/canoe/tinnie, wave a light towards the safety boat and wait for assistance.

    If the paddler in your partner vessel(s) experiences difficulties stay with that paddler until help arrives.

    Any paddler who pulls out of the procession must leave the water with their kayak/canoe, notify the event coordinator immediately and sign off.

    Electric motor tinnies must follow the lead boat and must not overtake other boats.

  • Waiver and Indemnity

    THIS IS A FUN ACTIVITY AND YOU ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK.

     Disclaimer

    1.     I hereby waive release and discharge all and every claim, right or cause of action (including for negligence, for breach of contract or breach of statute) for which I might have or which arises out of my death, injury, damage or loss of any description which I may suffer or sustain as the result of my participation in the Water Procession.

    2.     This waver release and discharge shall operate jointly and severally in favour of the indemnified Parties, namely: Lights on the Lake Organising Group, Currimundi Catchment Care Group Inc, Sunshine Coast Regional Council, volunteers involved or otherwise engaged in organising, promoting, staging, administering or controlling the Water Procession.

    3.     I agree to indemnify and keep indemnified the indemnified parties against all actions, suits, demands, claims, proceedings, costs, expenses, liabilities and judgements (including for negligence, breach of contract or breach of statute) arising out of or in relation to my participation in the Water Procession. This indemnity may be pleaded as a bar to any action, claim, demand suit or legal proceedings.

    4.     If there is a member of your crew under 13 years of age:
    I declare that I am over 18, or that I am the parent and/or guardian of a participant who is under 18. As a parent or legal guardian, I agree to these terms and conditions on behalf of my child.
