Description of the Communications Staff:
The Communications Staff is SGB's primary resource for media relations. Each position is responsible for different aspects of internal and external communications, including maintaining all of the Student Government Board social media accounts, drafting emails, and press outreach.
There are two open positions on the Communications Staff for the 2022-2023 year. Please read the responsibilities below and be sure to select which position for which you are applying.
Individual Position Responsibilities:
Press Secretary
- Draft and review language of emails and documents
- Assist in the writing of press release statements and organize press contacts
- Collaborate directly with the Communications Director and the President to advise Student Government Board members on engaging with media representatives
- Attend and take meeting minutes at weekly public meetings Tuesdays at 8:45pm
- Attend weekly meetings with the Communications Staff as determined by the Communications Director
Social Media Director
- Increase student engagement with Student Government Board through improved social media, communication, and marketing tactics
- Manage all Student Government Board social media (including Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter)
- Create graphics to promote Student Government Board events and resources
- Attend weekly meetings of the Communications Staff as determined by the Communications Director
Applications are due by April 12th, 2022 at 5pm. Interviews will be conducted from April 15th-17th.
