    Please read this application packet in its entirety if you are seeking scholarship funds for a Cheyenne Mountain Zoo Internship. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
  • Scholarships are limited and merit based; an application submission does not guarantee funds for the program. The objective of the scholarship program is to provide interns the opportunity to participate in one internship in either winter or summer at a reduced rate. 

    The submitted application will be reviewed and the information provided in the application will be kept strictly confidential. Incomplete or dishonest applications will not be considered for scholarship funds.  Cheyenne Mountain Zoo reserves the right to approve or deny funding to anyone. 

     

    All scholarship applications for the off season have a rolling deadline.

    Summer Applications: Due May 1st

    Fall/Winter/Spring Applications: No Deadline, Rolling Basis

    1. What parts of Zoo's do you believe foster the most behavior change in guests?
    2. What are the 2 most important things that you hope to gain from this internship?
    3. Where do you see yourself making the biggest impact in the care and conservation of wild animals?
    4. Describe your dream conservation project
    5. What do you think the Zoo Keeping field will be like in the next 10 years?
    6. What are the most important issues the zoo keeping field is facing today?
    7. Pick an experience from your own life and explain how it has influenced your development
