BBYO has been a global organization since 1936 with its first chapter beyond North America established in Sofia, Bulgaria, and still active today. Since that moment, BBYO has grown into the world’s largest pluralistic Jewish youth Movement, reaching 70,000 teens in more than 60 countries, amplifying and strengthening Jewish life and tradition around the world. As we continue to grow in depth and breadth, so too must the way we think about representation and connectivity.
At the International February Executives Conference at International Convention 2022, the AZA & BBG Executive Body (the presidents of every community) along with the International Board and trailblazer Alephs and BBGs from BBYO Argentina, passed a motion to establish the Global Advisory Committee.
The Global Advisory Committee will be a select but diverse group of teens covering BBYO’s Global Hubs that will focus on mobilizing, strengthening, and amplifying our Movement’s global representation and connectivity. Those selected to sit on the Global Advisory Committee will serve from June 1, 2022 - June 1, 2023, but transition and training for this group will start late-April.
