Thank you for your interest in purchasing one of our puppies. In order to aid in pairing each family with the pup who best fits what they are looking for in a dog, we ask that you complete this application and submit it once you are done. Please note that some applications may not generate a response given we feel you may not be a great match for one of our puppies!

Applications will be reviewed in the order in which they are received. When the application & the contract is received you will be required to place a $600.00 deposit in order hold your position on our list once you are approved. Deposits are non-refundable but may be transferred to a different list later on.

Please understand this application is not geared to be pushy or ask personal questions. We do not believe it is our place to ask how much income you make, how big your home/yard is, or etc. We feel it is YOUR responsibility to ensure you can meet the needed requirements for owning this particular breed before purchasing. However, as a breeder, it is our job to place puppies in their "Forever Homes" we will not place a puppy with just anyone we do have the right to refuse the sale of puppies to anyone at any time for any reason. We only ask needed questions to ensure you have done this research in advance.

Each puppy is an individual. Just as no two children in a family are identical, no two puppies are exactly alike. Nor are any two prospective homes the same. During the first 8-9 weeks of the puppies’ lives, I will be observing and evaluating their physical and personality traits. And I will compare my observations to the information on each questionnaire to try to determine the most appropriate home for each puppy by matching the needs of each individual dog to each prospective owner’s lifestyle.

Therefore, the answers you provide in this questionnaire are vital in assisting me to match your home with the right puppy. There are no “right” or “wrong” answers. Some of the questions may seem personal; however, candor and honesty are very important—remember, I’m trusting you for the lifetime of the dog.

I understand that timing of litters is uncontrolled as well as a successful pregnancy and viable puppies. Nosam Kennels is not able to control the timing of heat cycles, number or gender of puppies. We also have the right to cancel a litter due to the best interest of the parents involved (we put the health of our parent dogs paramount to having a litter). In the event a litter is cancelled, a litter does not take or there are not enough puppies I will be given other upcoming options. Heat cycles and timing is not guaranteed.

However we do our best to keep preferences in mind but we cannot control the number of male to female ratio nor guarantee a certain sex*

Do you feel your lifestyle allow you to provide the minimum exercise & training requirements for this particular breed? (Remember this is a higher energy breed bred for hunting while puppies temperaments and energy levels will vary overall they will all fit within the breed standard for exercise requirements and temperament.) You should be prepared to handle a more energetic breed. If you haven't had a Vizsla, or GSP before nor another higher energy sporting breed you should consider if you'll be able to provide ample exercise for this type of dog or if you have ample space to do so or areas around your town to provide an outlet). 99% of issues related to owning these breeds are due to Lack of exercise, training and mental stimulation. These dogs were BRED to be energetic.*

If you cannot provide enough exercise for your dog on any given day what are your plans to accommodate that? Is your significant other or other members of your household willing to exercise said dog? If you live alone what will you do on days you cannot provide the needed exercise yourself?*

Have you considered if you will have enough spare time to devote to a puppy or a dog? If you are starting college, are going to be moving within the next year, starting a new job or adding to your family, or have a life changing event happening now or in the near future will you still be able to take out time daily to train and care for your pup? (Please remember these are very "family" geared dogs. They will want to investigate a new baby and will develop a strong loving bond but sometimes kids and dogs can be a little rough when playing. You should be prepared to train not only your dog to respect the child but train the child to respect the dog as well)*

Have you considered if you are financially able to keep a puppy for 10-15 years? Have you considered the costs incurred to keep a dog each year (food, vet bills, flea meds, toys, new bedding, crates, boarding, training costs and etc?) *

Do you realize that the first few weeks of having a new puppy is a BIG commitment? Puppies need lots of bathroom breaks, need structure, time to adjust, training, and patience. Adjustment can take up to 4-weeks. Puppies aren't capable of being fully house trained until around 16-weeks when they develop the sphincter muscle. Puppies will cry and whine when being brought into a new environment and need lots of time spent with them to develop them into a properly trained adult. Without training, dogs don't magically grow into the "perfect dog".*

If you rent your home do you have written permission to have a dog the size of an adult Vizsla/GSP? (We highly advise you to obtain written permission if you are a renter and file the agreement away so you aren't stuck looking for a new home or rehoming your puppy if the landlord changes their mind later)

Do you understand the recommended minimum age at which one of our puppies shall have Spay/Neuter procedure is 12-18 months old due to early spay & neutering becoming a concerning cause for many serious health conditions in young dogs (Including but not limited to Canine Hip Dysplasia, bladder incontinence, cancers, & more)? Are you prepared to comply with this for the health of your new puppy? Do you understand that spaying/neutering your puppy before 12-months of age will void our health guarantee? Are you prepared to ensure that your new Vizsla/GSP is not allowed to breed & produce unwanted litters during the maturity time frame for the breed (12-18 months) until he/she can be spayed/neutered at the proper age*

Do you understand that once your dog reaches 24-months you are required to submit proof of Spay or Neuter to Nosam Kennels. If you wish to keep your dog intact after 24-months full health testing and proof of titles outlined in contract must be sent to Nosam. Any dogs that are bred there is a $10,000 fine for breeding with limited AKC registration.

Do you understand that we have an “Open Door” policy & will accept a puppy back at any time for any reason if at any time you are not able to properly care for your puppy? You understand that it is required that all dogs come back to us if their owners cannot keep them. Do you understand that if you cannot keep your puppy at anytime you are contractually obligated to return the dog to Nosam Kennels. None of our pups are to be resold, given away, or surrendered to a shelter or rescue without our explicit written permission. You are responsible in ensuing the dog is returned to us in a timely manner at any point you feel it is no longer a good fit or you cannot care for it any longer so we can provide proper placement. Failure to do so will void our contract*
