  • Call for Submissions

    The Mississauga Arts Council (MAC) in partnership with the Streetsville Bread and Honey Festival invite Mississauga visual artists to submit past and/or new visual works, of flowers and bees to be displayed in this one day juried exhibit “The Beauty of Bees” on Saturday June 4th, 2022 at the Pollinator Garden beside the BIA building from 2-5PM.“The Beauty of Bees” exhibit aims to bring much needed attention to the preservation of our pollinating bee population.

  • Deadline:
    Submission deadline is May 12, 2022 at 3PM

    Exhibitors must be Mississauga residents. 

    Because of the constraints of the exhibition space in which the show will take place, submissions must meet the following restrictions:

    • Artwork (including dimension of frame) must be between 24”and 36” in width, and may be up to a maximum of 40” high.
    • Up to 25 pieces will be chosen by the Jury.
    • Wooden easels will be provided by MAC.
    • Images need to be JPGs, PNGs, JPEGs, maximum 2MB, uploaded to the submission form.
    • Each JPGs, PNGS, JPEGS needs to be identified by your first initial, last name and image number (example: HHarris1.jpg HHarris2.jpg)
    • Submit 1 Artwork (JPGs) for judging.
    • Include Portfolio CV and/or Resume 
    • Along with the JPGs, complete and submit the Submission form to identify titles, medium, size, date made, and a maximum 250 word artist statement for all pieces submitted.

    Blanket insurance will be provided by MAC.

  • All submitted works will be considered by a jury made up of committee members and peers. A scoring system will be used to evaluate the submissions on the following criteria: 

    Artistic quality
    Relevance to the subject matter


    IMPORTANT:

    All decisions of the jury are final.
    If you are accepted, by submitting your entry you give MAC the right to publish your images for publicity purposes. We may ask select artists to provide higher resolution jpegs suitable for publishing.

    Chosen artists will need to deliver and set up their artwork, stay for the duration of the exhibit and remove their artwork at the end of the exhibit.

    No sales will be permitted at the exhibit, all sales must be conducted off site.
