Thank you for wanting to foster a dog with our rescue and for filling out our Foster Application.

Procedure: Completely fill out & sign the application below. If your application is approved to move forward, you will hear back from the rescue within 4 days, or please assume your application was not selected. For applications selected, a vet-check will be done, then a home visit may be made. If you live outside the Austin area (50+ miles) we may ask you to provide some photos of your home, indoor and outside with the yard and fencing (if applicable), as we would not be able to do a home visit prior to adopting. Fosters always get to decide which dog(s) they will take in and when. Cuz i Matter Animal Rescue (CiMAR) pays all veterinary expenses for foster dogs (this will be discussed with you at a later time). Fosters participate in adoption decisions and placements of their foster dogs, as desired.

Medical Care: I understand the Medical Care will be done by Cuz i Matter Animal Rescue (CiMAR) with the exception of spay/neuter surgery and rabies vaccination which will be done at a Vet that CiMAR has contracts with (i.e.: Emancipet). It will be my responsibility to bring my foster dog to CiMAR when the pet is due for his/her vaccines. All vet care is to be brought to CiMAR's attention before any vet care will be done and paid for.

I have read the above information carefully and have filled out this application honestly. I understand that omission of information and/or failure to answer all questions and sign the application can result in this application being declined. Also, if an omission or untruth is discovered after a fostering arrangement is made, or if Cuz i Matter Animal Rescue (CiMAR), determines the dog is not cared for properly, I understand that CiMAR reserves the right to reclaim the animal at any time. I understand that the dog(s) that I would be, or are fostering, are property of CiMAR and that CiMAR retains ownership until the dog(s) are adopted. I give CiMAR permission to fully investigate the information I provided as well as contact veterinarians and related officials. If the application passes this review, I agree to a home and yard visit on a mutually agreed date by a CiMAR volunteer before a fostering decision is made.

In addition, I understand the fostering arrangement is dependent on many factors, including but not limited to the compatibility of the family and home to the individual animal. I understand it is CiMAR’s prerogative to decide which foster homes meet our needs & standards, and that their decision is final. Unless otherwise indicated by CiMAR, I am free to apply and undergo the fostering application process in the future.

Cuz i Matter Animal Rescue (CiMAR) has provided the best information we can about the dog and Foster/Adopter accepts responsibility for the dog based on information available and provided at time of signing this waiver. Adopter does not hold CiMAR responsible for any errors in the information provided regarding the dog.

I understand that there is always a slight risk that the animal I am Fostering/Adopting, could harbor a contagious illness. I understand keeping my animals up-to-date on vaccinations is my responsibility and should they or a family member happen to become ill, (allergies, etc.) as a result of my foster/adopted dog, I hereby expressly agree that I (we) will not hold CiMAR financially or otherwise legally responsible. Although I acknowledge that I also understand that while CiMAR takes every precaution to not place aggressive dogs in foster/adopter homes, there is the risk that a rescue dog could inflict a bite or scratch to myself, family members or resident animals. I agree that I will not hold CiMAR financially or otherwise legally responsible for any injuries that might occur from fostering/adopting a dog. I release CiMAR from any and all liability of damage, injury, illness to my family, pets and/or property. I agree to release CiMAR from any and all liabilities with respect to the dog’s behavior, actions, health, temperament, age, breed or conduct. I hereby release Cuz i Matter Animal Rescue (CiMAR), its heirs, successors and assigns, board members, or any other agents or representatives from any and all responsibility or liability with regard to this Foster/Adoption, which I (we) undertake voluntarily and with full knowledge of this release and its implications.
