Toolbox 158 - Driver Security Induction

It is Linfox policy that all drivers must complete a security induction at the start of their employment with Linfox or a Linfox Sub-contractor partner.

This security induction will provide drivers with the awareness of security procedures they need to observe and adhere to during their employment with Linfox or a Linfox Sub-contractor partner.

Drivers Licence - Driver has the correct driving licence for the type of vehicle to be used and that the licence is current.
Vehicle suitability - The vehicle is suitable for the transportation of the specified goods, the vehicle is in roadworthy condition and the vehicle is within its service period.
Drugs and Alcohol - Driver is not under the influence of: Alcohol or drugs or Medicines which may cause drowsiness.
Tracking (If applicable) - Driver has checked that the vehicle tracking device is operational. The driver will not deactivate any tracking device.
Route - Driver is aware of the route to be used and will not deviate from the route without approval.
Rest pointsDriver is aware of the rest points to be used and will not stop at any other point without approval.
Road Laws - Driver will obey all road laws and understands that Linfox reputation may be affected by non-compliance. Example: stopping at the scene of an accident, exchanging details if involved in an accident, etc. The driver will comply with any police directive if stopped for a routine check or due to a breach of driving regulations. The driver will advise their manager / supervisor immediately in these situations.
Personal Behaviour - Driver is aware that inappropriate driving habits such as tailgating, aggressive driving, road rage, inappropriate gesturing, speeding and discourtesy on the road are not acceptable will impact adversely on the reputation of Linfox.
Cumstomer Behaviour - Customer’s behaviour can vary dependent on a multitude of factors. Drivers confronted with customer behaviour that they deem inappropriate are to remain calm and attempt to defuse the situation, remove yourself from the situation, potentially remove yourself from the location entirely the driver will advise their manager / supervisor immediately in these situations.
Hold-up - If safe to do so the driver will call "000" in the event of an armed hold-up. In this instance the driver will comply with any instructions issued by armed offenders and notify the police and their manager / supervisor as soon as practicable after the event and follow any instructions from the police and their manager / supervisor.
Assault - In the event of an assault the driver will take protection in the vehicle and will call "000".
Vehicle Problems - Driver will contact their manager / supervisor in the event of any vehicle breakdown or collision and will remain with the vehicle until a replacement vehicle or assistance arrives.
Incident Reporting - Driver is aware that any adverse incidents must be reported to Linfox Security Group through their manager / supervisor and the Linfox WoW Online Territory Manager.
