You have a testimony. It's your story.
Maybe you think of your story as something that you don't want to glorify or bring attention to. Maybe you feel it would be too much for the kids to handle the truth of your story.
When you tell what God has done in your life despite how the enemy tried to keep you beat up and in bondage, you are giving glory to God and hope to our campers. Most of them have seen more pain and trauma that you can imagine, and your honesty will help them feel like they aren't alone.
Or, you may be feeling like you don’t have anything to share to give hope to children of prisoners or foster kids. Perhaps you grew up in a Christian home, and life was pretty good, or so you tried to make everyone believe. But nobody has a perfect life.
We all struggle from time to time with unforgiveness, jealousy, anger, grief, perhaps even shattered dreams and heartbreaks. Did you ever feel alone, and wonder if God was hearing your prayers? Have you ever felt betrayed by a close friend? What did you do about it? Initially you may have responded wrong but that too is part of a testimony. How did God help you resolve the problem? What was it that God showed you to help you through, and what was the result of your obedience.?
This is the kind of testimony that our campers need to hear. Stories of REAL people sharing REAL struggles in their lives, and finding out that GOD REALLY does care, and wants to be involved with our lives!!
