• Blessed Camp is a community in the south coast of Mombasa, Kenya, that was ravaged by leprosy. To help strengthen and build up the the people living there, Baraka (Swahili for blessed) Academy, a primary school, was built.

Every day at Baraka Academy, we feed not just the children’s minds but also their stomachs. For many of the 100 students, the meals we provide are the only hot meal they receive that day. As you can imagine, children learn much better when they don’t have to listen to their stomachs rumbling.

By providing food for a day, you can help us to give these children a chance to learn in a wonderful and loving atmosphere while also helping them to find some relief from the ongoing challenges of food insecurity in their community.

We are asking you to sponsor a hot, nourishing meal for the children of Baraka Academy in honor of your own birthday, the birthday of someone you love, or to give in honor of another significant date or person in your life. You will have the ability to share why and/or whom you are commemorating in the comments below!

    Some giving ideas:

    * Choose your birthday and celebrate by feeding 100 children ($70)

    * Choose your birthday week and feed 500 students ($350)

    * Choose the birthday of someone special and give on their behalf ($70)

    * Choose any special date or week and give to feed the students
