• Lough MacNean Needs and Priorities Survey

    for the Border Transition Project
  • Introduction

'Border Transition' is a community-led project that is seeking to understand the needs of the Lough MacNean area and to then develop future solutions that will benefit both the communities and the environment.

Although the ‘Lough MacNean area’ is not an exactly defined geography, for the purposes of the project, it takes in the locations of Belcoo Co Fermanagh, Blacklion Co Cavan, Cashel Co Fermanagh, Glenfarne Co Leitrim, Killesher Co Fermanagh and Kiltyclogher Co Leitrim.

You are hereby invited to complete this short survey - it will only take 10 minutes of your time. We welcome responses from anyone living in the Lough MacNean area. All responses will be kept anonymous and will not be identified to the respondent.

This survey complements a series of face-to-face meetings held with the communities and representative groups in spring 2022 by project managers, TASC and ICBAN, the cross-border partnership for the area. The aim is to build up a comprehensive picture of local needs. We welcome the thoughts and views of local people who have yet to participate in the project, as well as those who have previously participated to further express their opinions.

The results of the survey, and other findings will be shared at a public event to be held on Thursday 30th June 7.30 – 9.30pm in the Larganess Centre, Florencecourt, County Fermanagh. The event is open to people living in the Lough MacNean area and if you are available, we would be delighted if you could attend. You can send an email to andy@icban.com to register your place.

Following this, the project managers and key stakeholders will work with the communities of the area in identifying solutions to the various issues and challenges.

Please note: the survey deadline has been extended and is open until Thursday the 16th of June.

    Thank you for your participation,

    ICBAN and TASC

We are keen to hear from you about who should be involved in this, who should take a lead, and what role you as an individual citizen can play.
