Housing Assistance Program
On, March 26, 2022, the Native Village of Georgetown (NVG) established a Housing Assistance Program using funds from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) to assist NVG members adversely impacted by the economic impacts of the ongoing pandemic. In developing program guidelines, NVG strived to balance the urgency of the need of our members with a process that will ensure transparency, efficiency, and the responsible management of ARPA funds.
The COVID-19 pandemic has underscored the need for safe and sanitary living conditions to improve public health. The Native Village of Georgetown, recognizing that there is a need to assist our members, authorizes the payment for Housing.
This program is funded by ARPA-BIA-Housing Improvement and may be altered at any time based upon guidance or notification from the U.S. Department of Interior or by the relevant guidelines published by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
The funds must be used solely for economic damages due to the COVID- 19 public health emergency. Only one application per household. Members who have active debts to a bank loan or a landlord.
Applicants must self-certify that no members in the applicant's household have used a similar program or obtained duplicate relief.
The NVG reserves the right to amend the criteria or procedures of this program as may be required to conform with state and federal guidelines.
The assistance will be used for a one-time payment of:
- Mortgage assistance up to $600
- Rental assistance up to $600

The application may be digitally signed. NVG staff may assist the member in filling out applications, but the accuracy of the information provided remains the applicant's sole responsibility. It is the applicant's responsibility to notify NVG staff of any changes to their application.
