Application Procedure
IF YOU MEET OUR DOGS AT A MEET AND GREET EVENT YOU MAY APPLY ANYTIME AS THEY WILL ONLY HAVE BIOS POSTED IF THEY DID NOT RECIEVE APPLICATIONS AT THIS EVENT.
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION CAREFULLY BEFORE APPLYING
We request the following information in an attempt to assist you with the selection of your companion animal. The animal’s welfare is our foremost consideration. This process is designed to help us determine if the placement is in the animal’s best interest and to assist you in finding an animal best suited to your lifestyle. SCAAR reserves the right to refuse an adoption to anyone for any reason. No animal will be adopted to prospective owners who mislead or fail to provide accurate information on this application.
**WE DO NOT reply to all adoption applications. We are a volunteer based rescue and some dogs receive numerous applications in a short period of time. Only approved applicants will receive a reply email.
**IT IS NOT A FIRST COME FIRST SERVE PROCESS - IT IS BEST FIT FOR THE DOG!**
Please read the following information carefully:

PLEASE DO NOT apply to MULTIPLE rescue organizations at the same time. This will hurt a dogs chance of finding a family. Please wait the alotted 72 hours or send an email to our team at Secondchancelondon@gmail.com to be contacted before moving on to another furry friend.
The adoption fee must be paid in cash or E Transfer at the time of the adoption. We do not do payment plans or take credit cards for adoptions.
Adoption Fees are subject to change depending on vetting, age and rising costs of care.
The adoptions team reviews applications fairly quickly. Typically it only takes 24 hours -48 hours to review and approve an application. If you have already had an application approved it will be much quicker - Sometimes it may take a few days to get a reply back as our team are busy volunteers. Please be sure to read the entire email and be prepared to take your newly adopted pup home the same day if you are selected.
The adoptions team will send you a text shortly after sending you an email to ensure that you check your junk folder for our reply email.
PLEASE DO NOT GHOST US AFTER FILLING OUT AN APPLICATION. We are all volunteers and are trying to get these sweet souls adopted into loving families. If you receive an email reply from us PLEASE reply even if you are no longer able to adopt.
Please DO NOT apply if you are going on vacation, are on vacation or are not ready to welcome the dog in question into your family right away.
All Meet & Greets/Adoptions take place at one of our partner Petvalu locations - Unless otherwise discussed.
Every effort will be made to review the applications in a timely manner.

We require an application for EACH dog you are applying to adopt.
All family members (canine included) must meet the new dog before adoption to ensure compatibility. Unless otherwise discussed.
The adoptions team does not reply to all applications, just the successful applicant as we are all volunteers and can not reply to every application that comes in.
All of our dogs are given age appropriate vaccinations, been dewormed, flea/tick prevented, heartworm tested if they are over 8 months of age, all dogs between 6- 8 months are also spayed/neutered unless medically unable to be due to size or medical issues.
Puppies under 6 months do not come altered and it is the adopters responsibility to have this done when they are of age. This is part of your adoption contract and will be followed up on by one of our volunteers.
All dogs come with 30 days of free pet insurance through Trupanion. This insurance is not active until the NEW owner activates it after adoption. It is EMERGENCY insurance only and does not cover basic vetting or exams.
All dogs adopted in the city of London come with a free dog license registration form.
