Dear Dancers and Parents,
We are excited to once again have in-person camps and workshop this summer subject to Ulster County Health Department approval and in accordance to any guidelines set forth by the Ulster county Health Commissioner. Holding a residential camp in the midst of a pandemic presents many challenges and requires adjustments that address the reality of COVID 19. Safety of the campers, staff, teachers and medical personnel is of paramount importance. While Covid -19 related restrictions have lessened, Covid continues to be a reality in our lives. Below are some requirements that will be implemented.
MANDATORY TESTING
All campers and staff will be required to show proof of a negative COVID test administered within 72 hours prior to the arrival at camp. THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS! We will require that campers and staff self-quarantine from the time of testing to arrival. We expect additional testing during camp as well
as temperature monitoring and symptom checking.. Therefore, each camp participant is required to bring an unopened at home Covid-19 testing kit to be administered during camp by camp medical personnel.
NEW PROTOCOL FOR REGISTRATION
-
Registration and required paperwork and forms for dance camp and workshop are online. Paperwork must be submitted electronically or sent via mail to the Camp Director. No paperwork, with the exception of the proof of a negative COVID test and COVID questionnaire, will be accepted on the day of arrival.
-
Registration applications, required paperwork and payment are due by 6/1/2022. Late payment and paperwork will result in a $100 late fee. (You are not considered registered until a deposit is received)
-
Once registration, deposit and paperwork is received, you will receive a confirming email advising you of additional information concerning drop off and a scheduled time slot for arrival at camp.
-
In order to streamline our registration process and avoid overcrowding, we will be staggering arrival times. Location of initial arrival will be announced at a later date.
-
Upon arrival at your preselected time, you will turn in your child's proof of a negative COVID test, an attestation of self quarantine and fill out a COVID related questionnaire. A temperature check will be conducted and a rapid test may be administered. At that time, you will be given a pass and directed to your child's dormitory building.
-
In order to limit the amount of people in the campers living areas, NO parents/guardians will be allowed to linger in the building. All parents/helpers must be masked at drop off and will be limited to 10 minutes in the dormitory building. Dance camp staff will help move the campers' belongings into the sleeping quarters and assist in the move in process. All beds and rooming assignments will be preassigned.
EXPECTED CHANGES
While we are looking forward to a fun filled summer, dance camp will be different this year. Everyone will need to adhere to safety protocols.
-
As per current New York state guidelines, campers and staff will not need to wear masks.
-
Frequent handwashing, and sanitizing will be implemented.
-
There will be a limited number of participants.
-
There will be NO parent visitation weekend. Campers and staff will be on premises during the duration of camp. Your child will need enough supplies and clothing for 2 weeks.
-
There will be daily temperature checks and health monitoring throughout the camp. *No other camp will be running concurrently at Soyuzivka during dance camp.
-
In order to avoid large gatherings and maintain social distancing, there will be NO in-person recital this summer. We will have a recital that will be filmed in small groups with a link for parents. We will update you should something change.
-
Camp orientation for parents will be conducted via ZOOM. A link will be provided as we get closer to camp.
MUTUAL COOPERATION
-
In order to facilitate a safe and enjoyable camp, we need everyone's cooperation. .
-
Everyone will agree to comply with all prevention requirements.
-
We ask that any parents that have a concern that their child has been exposed to someone with COVID refrain from sending their child to camp. Anyone with symptoms of COVID should not come to camp.
-
We all need to be diligent and do our part in order to have a successful camp. All it takes is one infected person to spread the virus and potentially close down the camp. In the event that someone starts to exhibit symptoms, they will be immediately quarantined in a separate area and will need to be picked up by their parents.
-
We are awaiting clear operating guidelines and camp permits from the Ulster County Health Commissioner. Our plans and protocols may need to be adjusted. We will update you on any new developments. As always, the safety of the campers and staff are out primary concern.
Thank-you for your understanding and cooperation.
