Application for Child to Join 1st Roffey

Please complete this form and your child will be added to our "wanting to join" list. We cannot guarantee a place just because you complete this form as we have limited availability. Places are granted based upon a number of factors with sibling children and adult volunteer children getting priority. After that, those who have been on the list longest are offered places first.

It is unusual for us to have places for direct entry into Cubs or Scouts as the available places are taken by those transferring from younger sections but occasionally we do have capacity.

We do not accept anyone onto our list under the age of 4 or over the age of 12.

Anyone outside this age range will be rejected. This is because our experience has demonstrated that we always struggle to maintain contact with families who are on the list for more than a couple of years. We also have never been able to offer a place for any child over 12 unless they have already been in Scouting. If this is the case please email our lead volunteer on glv1roffey@hrshamscouts.com. For those who are on the list it is your responsibility to keep us informed of changes of address or contact details. If we are unable to contact you, your child will be automatically removed.

Children are generally able to join Beavers aged 6,Cubs age 8 and Scouts aged 10½.

Beavers meet on a Thursday from 1730 to 1830

Cubs meet on a Tuesday from 1830 until 2000

Scouts meet on a Thursday from 1900 until 2100

Please be aware Scouting is a uniformed organisation and we do have a membership fee which is paid termly in advance.
