Before You Begin

This application form is for General Artists & Photographers. Fibre Artists, Groups and Galleries have separate application forms that can be found on LakeCountryArtWalk.ca

Event Info

ArtWalk 2022 - September 10 & 11 from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., both days, at the Lake Country Community Complex. Over 7,000 people come to enjoy this high quality arts festival.

The theme for ArtWalk 2022 is “Life in Full Bloom”. Please note artists are in no way required to make work that fits the theme, although you certainly may do so if you choose.

Please note for 2022:

• This application form is to be used by all artists except the Fibre Artists, Groups and Galleries who will use separate applications.
• Photography artists, please note there is not a separate application for photography. Please refer to the General Guidelines on the website that covers all details of participating in ArtWalk, some things will now be different for Photography.

Please Note: 

1. Please note this application will take 15-30 minutes to complete. Please ensure you have the time and are prepared with all your information and image files to submit. Fields with * are mandatory. 

2. Please ensure the actual image files are individually named with the following convention: Artist Last Name_ArtworkTitle, no larger than 10MB in size (per image) and saved in one of the following formats: jpeg, jpg, zip, or png

3. You will need to complete the form in one session. Please begin with all materials prepared to avoid timing-out of the form and losing information. Please ensure you have a reliable internet connection while completing this form. 

4. If you are unable to participate in the online submission process, please email info@lakecountryartwalk.ca. 

5. Applications are open April 1- June 1, 2022

General Artists - Guidelines for Exhibiting

• Choose from two sizes of booth space: 100 sq ft for $100 or 200 sq ft for $200 (we will try to provide your preference, but cannot always guarantee the larger space )
• In addition to the fee for space, all artists will pay a 10% commission of sales to ArtWalk
• Spaces may vary in configuration (ie. 10x20 or 8 x 25)
• You must aim for a gallery-like display within your space
• All artwork must be originals, no reproductions or greeting cards
• Artwork must be new works that have not been shown at ArtWalk before

Criteria for Selection of Artworks:

• All work must be original, creative art
• Artworks must be of high quality, showing a good body of work for each artist
• Artists must reside in the Okanagan Valley
• Any types of artwork may be included (two-dimensional, sculpture, any medium)
• There is a separate jury processes and applications for Fibre Arts and Groups/Galleries. 

The Jury Process will take place in June, applicants will be notifed by email in early July.

Photographers - Guidelines for Exhibiting

Guidelines for Exhibiting

• All artists will pay a 10% commission of sales to ArtWalk
• Spaces may vary in configuration (ie. 10x20 or 8 x 25)
• You must aim for a gallery-like display within your space
• All artwork must be originals, no reproductions or greeting cards
• Artwork must be new works that have not been shown at ArtWalk before
• Accepted works on display at ArtWalk must be properly framed  or stretched and wired – ready for hanging 
• Only one version or size of a particular image can be displayed 

Criteria for Selection of Artworks:

• All work must be original, creative art
• Digital files in your application should be a minimum of 1600 px on the long side
• Submit digital files as you would wish them to be viewed (ie. landscape images saved in landscape format)
• Watermarking, signatures and digital mats and frames may cause rejection
• Artworks must be of high quality, showing a good body of work for each artist
• Artists must reside in the Okanagan Valley
• There is a separate jury process and application for Fibre Arts, Groups and Galleries

Artwork Submission

Please upload images of a minimum of 10 works and maximum of 15 works for the jury to consider.

The works you submit do not have to be the exact pieces you intend to show at ArtWalk, but should be an indication of the type and quality of your work. All forms of your artwork must be juried in order to be shown. 

Please note:

• Recognizing that artists may continue to create new artwork during the summer, it is possible to exhibit works that have not been listed below.
• If accepted to ArtWalk 2022, you will be required to submit a final list of your exhibiting artworks on our Artist Agreement Form before August 20, 2022.
• All artwork must be originals, no reproductions or greeting cards
• Artwork must be new works that have not been shown at ArtWalk before

Upload Artwork Images

• Images must have complete identification and be of good quality
• Each file should be named with the following convention: Artist Last Name_Artwork Title
  
• Poor quality images may result in a submission being rejected
• Individual images may be uploaded in the following formats: jpeg, jpg, zip, or png
• Maximum file size (per individual image): 10MB
• FOR PHOTOGRAPHY APPLICANTS ONLY: Images should be a minimum of 1600 px on the long side

Process and Timelines for Applications

• Applications must be submitted by June 1, 2022
• The jury process will take place in June
• All artists will be notified in early July as to whether they are accepted or not.
