Thank you for your interest in participating in the inaugural PLG Arts Fest on Sunday, June 12, 2022, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., rain or shine. Running in association with Artmageddon in Ditmas Park and Kensington, PLG Arts Fest will offer the opportunity for 2D and 3D visual artists to exhibit and sell their work at
-
Maple Street Community Garden
-
front and rear gardens and some indoor spaces at
local
businesses
on Rogers and Nostrand avenues from Empire to Clarkson
-
outdoor
residential sites
in PLG such as stoops, covered porches, driveways, front gardens/areaways, and fences.
Exhibition sites will radiate northward from a musical mainstage at Parkside Plaza. The PLG Arts board will select artists based on space availability and suitability (we might not have many venues that can accommodate large sculpture, for instance). All venue-artist pairings will be featured on an interactive event Google Map.
By mid-May, PLG Arts board members and event volunteers will pair artists with venues and coordinate a joint in-person meeting to review site conditions and anticipate the logistics of the day of the event, including the size (number of pieces) of the artist's exhibition, set-up, and break-down. We will also circulate during the event itself to help ensure a smooth, enjoyable experience for all.
The event will abide by local pandemic protocol.
With your participation, PLG Arts Fest will honor your talent, inspire our collective creativity, and share the vibrancy of our neighborhood, showing visitors, newcomers, and longtimers alike why PLG is a gem in all of Brooklyn and NYC!
