Garden City Cougars Participant/Parent Contract
As a parent/player, I understand that:
1.All practices are mandatory. This includes practice in inclement weather.
2. If unable to attend a practice, your unit director/cheer coach must be notified before practice begins.
3.Football: One (1) unexcused absence from a practice will result in reduced playing time. Two (2) unexcused absences will first of from result in being barred from playing half the game of that week.Three(3)or more unexcused the being playingthat participant game. Having absences in a week will result in participant being unable to participate in that week's game. Unexcused absences are defined as, but not limited to, not showing up to practice without calling your unit director. Cheer: See Attendance Policy
4. Inappropriate language, hitting, bullying or misconduct of any kind will not be tolerated.
5. Participants will respect teammates, officials, coaches and opposing players at all times.
6. Football players must arrive 2 hours prior to all games unless otherwise noted by their coach.
7. Proper game and practice attire is required. Game uniforms are not to be worn to practices.
8. Cheer: No jewelry is allowed to be worn during practices and/or games. See https://smyfa.com/ for Cheerfest rules regarding competition restrictions. All cheerleaders need to arrive to games in full uniform (as determined by the coach prior to the game) or they will need to sit out.
9. Football: One (1) tardy to football practice for player will result in unit discipline per head coach. Two (2) tardies will result in the loss of playing in one (1) quarter of that week's game and 5 play rule unless excused. Three (3) tardies will result in the loss of playing in two (2) quarters of that week's game and 5 play rule for the rest of the game unless excused. Cheer: See Attendance Policy.
10. Coaches have the authority to remove a player/participant from a game, prior to or during, due to misconduct or unexcused absences - remember you are representing GCYAA Cougar Football/Cheer.
11. Injured players/participants are expected to attend practices if physically able to, so that they can continue thelearning process so they will be able to fully participate when they are physically able to play.
