ALL cookoffs take place on Tuesdays, 4:30-7:30pm.
Strawberry Festival - May 21 - NOTE: This is a Tea Party Showcase, not a competition. Samples will be part of the Tea Party Buffet.
Peach Festival - July 16

No fee for Contestants. Contestants can include businesses, individuals, and restaurants. Entry must contain the item focus for the festival (ex: Peaches for Peach Cookoff). It is recommended that you purchase your item for one of our vendors the week before (ex: get your strawberries from our Strawberry vendor :)
Participants may not sell merchandise of any kind without a vendor application approval from the Greer Farmers Market.
Entries should be prepared prior to the event. If cooking on site is required, please notify us of equipment used so we may accommodate you.
Contestants must arrive at Greer City Park by 4pm the day of competition. Volunteers will collect 5 samples from you between 4:30-5:00PM to be judged. Winners announced at 7pm.
Judging Criteria: Contenstants are judged based on a weighted scale for the following categories: flavor, texture, aroma, overall impression, and appearance. Chili has the additional category of heat profile. Three winners will be announced at each cookoff: People's Choice, Judges Choice, and Runner Up.
Contestants must supply their own table and chair, tents are optional but recommended (white tent preferred for participants). Please notify us if you need access to power.
It is recommended that you make enough for 200 2oz samples. We will provide tasting cups and spoons.
Space assignments and setup guidelines will be sent the day before the competition.
Organizers reserve the right to deny any participant that does not follow market guidelines or jeopardizes public safety.
All participants must make sure their space is clean before leaving the event.
We will be selling tasting tickets to attendees as a fundraiser for the farmers market. Attendees will be able to use tasting tickets to sample the entries for a people's choice selection. Restaurants will be able to sell their entries. Individuals and businesses not setup to sell food, will not be allowed to sell their entries.
Trophies awarded for Judges Choice and People's Choice.
Insurance & Liability:
Items brought on site are done so at the sole risk of the participant. The City of Greer nor Greer Farmers Market are not responsible for any injury, loss, damage, or destruction of personal property, equipment, and/or valuables. Vendors are responsible for their own personal and property liability insurance.
Any participating restaurant selling prepared food or drink items must supply the City of Greer with a certificate of general liability insurance listing the City of Greer as an additional insured. This includes food trucks, food vendors, etc. Coverage must be at least $1,000,000 general aggregate and $500,000 each occurrence. Any vendor not supplying this document will not be permitted to participate in the market. The certificate may be emailed to greerfarmersmarket@gmail.com.
