We encourage all entrants to project a patriotic theme that honors our country and the spirit of the day. This years theme is "Together Again"

The Clawson 4th of July Parade is a family-oriented event and all participants must perform in a tasteful manner. Obscene/offensive gestures and foul language will not be tolerated and participants will be removed from the parade. The parade is not the venue for divisive agendas. The Parade Committee reserves the right to accept or reject any applicant for any reason. Participation in the Clawson 4th of July Parade shall be at participants own risk. Participant assumes full responsibility for any injuries or damages, and does hereby release and discharge Clawson 4th of July Committee, Officers, Agents of the aforementioned from any and all claims, demands, damage, rights or causes of action present or future resulting from participation in the 2026 Clawson 4th of July Parade. I have also read and understand the rules of this parade and agree to abide by them. Festival or festival's designees may use the names and likeness of the participants for promotional purposes without further compensation.
« Do NOT throw objects (candy, toys, etc.) to or at spectators along the parade route.

« DO hand objects to spectators, but only at or behind the curb.

« Do NOT use squirt guns or water hoses

« DO keep up with the unit in front of you. We want to avoid gaps in the parade.

« DO listen to the Parade marshals. Marshals will assist you at lineup and throughout the parade route. Parade marshals are authorized to enforce the rules and also have the right to remove entries that do not comply.

« DO be in the proper parade unit order. Positions assigned in the parade order may not be changed.

« DO maintain proper spacing between units, as directed by parade officials.

« DO provide transportation at Schalm School to return your group to Clawson Center if needed.

« Rain Date: There is NO rain date - Note: It never rains on Clawson’s parade!
Dear Special Event Applicants:

On advice of the city's insurance provider, the city is requiring that any organization applying for a special event in the city include a hold harmless clause in their specific event registration (online form or paper) that each vendor, participant or organization acknowledge or sign that indemnify and hold harmless the City of Clawson moving forward. The language is listed below:

"HOLD HARMLESS CLAUSE To the fullest extent permitted by law I, agree (Name of Organization, Company, Participant etc.)to defend, pay on behalf of, indemnify, and hold harmless the City of Clawson, its elected and appointed officials, employees and volunteers, and others working on behalf of the City of Clawson against any and all claims, demands, suits, or loss, including all costs connected therewith, and for any damages which may be asserted, claimed, or recovered against or from the City of Clawson, by reason of personal injury, including bodily injury or death and/or property damage, including loss of use thereof, which arises out of, or is in any way connected or associated with this contract.

Registration at Clawson Center - Greet arrivals. Verify participant credentials. Register “walk-ons”. Direct participants to assigned rowTraffic Flow Assistant - Supervise barricades and traffic cones at Clawson Center. – and SIGNSStaging or Route Support - Man water/candy supplies at designated points along parade route.Clowns - Pass out candy, provided by Parade Committee, along the parade route. Pick up additional candy along the parade route at designated drop points.OTHER - Willing to help where needed!
