Talent Competition General Information
The talent competition will be held on Friday morning. It will begin promptly at 8:00
Prizes
A Trophy will be awarded for the winner of each of the music related categories, with each individual participant receiving a ribbon. For example: the winning Ensemble will receive 1 trophy, but all participants will receive a ribbon. Second and third place in each category will also be awarded a ribbon.
The winner of the Preaching and Bible Memory categories will receive a new bible, signed by the conference speakers
General Rules
Eligibility: any registered delegate who is not being considered as a youth leader, or youth worker.
Attire: Attire should be modest and appropriate. Men should wear long pants and a collared shirt. For preaching contestants are encouraged (however not required) to wear a suit and tie. Ladies must wear a not shorter than knee length skirt or dress and modest blouse.
Selections: For all vocal competitions the selection must be a Gospel song., appropriate for a church service.
For solo and group instrumental competition a Gospel song, as would be played as a special in a church service is encouraged and preferred; however, a classical selection is also acceptable.
Attendance: Once the competition has begun, the Administrator for each category will call the name/group that is next. If that person/group is not present the administrator will move on to the next participant. If your name has been called at 3 separate times with no answer, you will be assumed as withdrawn from competition.
Categories
Vocal: Solo, Group, Quartet, Ensemble (Ens. & Quartet may be combined based on the number of entries)
Instrumental : Solo, Group (may be combined based on the number of entries)
Preaching : Jr High category & Sr High category
