The ESII grant is designed to support local school corporations in developing and implementing a systematic approach to integrating the Indiana Employability Skills into the core curriculum. The development of performance assessments and competency-based rubrics will provide ongoing feedback to students throughout grades K-8 and grades 9-12.
Successful applications will include the following components:
Transferability-Student mastery of the Employability Skills means these essential qualities can be applied in any environment. How will students demonstrate mastery in communication, collaboration, and work ethic when they leave your program?
Validity-How will you validate students’ exploration, engagement and experience?
Students will have the work-, project-, and service-based learning experiences validated internally and externally.
Data collection -Important to demonstrate success of the ESSI grant, in order to examine the implementation process, validity of the micro credentials/badges as a measure of readiness, and propose recommendations to support continuous improvement. All data must be reported to the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) in the required data sharing format.
High Quality Partnerships-Defined as partnerships with local and/or state businesses, universities and/or colleges, or other stakeholders who provide external endorsement and engagement.
