This year we will award a $2000 1st place scholarship and a $1500 2nd place scholarship to deserving Greater Phoenix Metropolitan area students.
Applicants must meet the following criteria
- Graduating senior from a high school in the Greater Phoenix Metropolitan area with evidence of college enrollment for the term immediately after high school graduation
OR
- Undergraduate college student currently enrolled in a 2 or 4-year college/university located in the Greater Phoenix area
And also:
- Be a U.S. Citizen, legal permanent resident or an eligible non-U.S. citizen
- Must have a record of volunteerism in the community in non-school sponsored activities.
- Must have a record of participation in extracurricular school activities.
- Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 scale or equivalent.
- Minimum ACT score of 15 or SAT score of 850, not mandatory, but extra credit
will be given in application scoring assessments
- Must have the recommendation of a High School Guidance Counselor or Academic Advisor

Before You Begin
You should have the following documents ready for upload before you begin this application:
Essay/Personal Statement-Upload an essay/personal statement that has one-inch margins on all sides, is double-spaced, grammatically correct, typed in Times New Roman 11-12 pt. font, does not exceed 2 pages, and includes your name and essay title on each page. Your essay/personal statement (500 word minimum) must address the following questions:
- Why do you think community service is important?
- What steps have you taken to make a positive impact within the low socioeconomic communities?
- Why is college a priority for you?
- What do you think our country should do to foster unity?
- If you had to teach a subject to high school students what would it be and why do you think it is important?

Two (2) Recommendation Letters:
- A letter of recommendation from an academic officer (principle, dean,
teacher/counselor/advisor) must accompany this application.
- A letter of recommendation from a leader of a civic, community, or fraternal
organization in your community must accompany this application.
