  • Qualifications for Apprenticeship

  • A. Applicants for apprenticeship shall not be a member of any organization advocating the overthrow or destruction by any means of the Government of the United States of America.

    B.by September 1 of the year in which they apply. They must have a pronounced aptitude and interest in the craft. Applicants will be required to provide the JATC with proof of age.

    C. Applicants for apprenticeship must be physically able to perform the required work.

    D. The JATC shall have the right to require an applicant for apprenticeship to undergo a drug screening test at a facility chosen by the JATC at the applicant's expense. Applicants may be required to pass a physical examination at the expense of the applicant as a final condition for admission to the program.

    E. All applicants for apprenticeship must be able to prove that they are legally entitled to be employed in the United States of America.

    F. All applicants for apprenticeship must be high school graduates and present a bona fide copy of their high school transcript, or G.E.D.

    G. Qualities such as interest, character, cooperativeness, judgment and similar factors which promise successful completion of the individual's apprenticeship and performance as a journey person will be determined by giving a fair and impartial interview.

    Any applicant with basic requirement deficiencies will not be processed any further. The applicant's folder will be marked "Incomplete Folder" to show that the applicant did not reach the interview process.
