  • Math Placement

Math courses are available based on the student's ability.  We strongly encourage students take a math placement test to ensure enrollment corresponds with their ability.  There are 3 levels of math placement tests included with this form; all include a grading sheet.  Please download the applicable test and have your student complete as much of it as possible.  Then, use the included grading sheet to correct the test and determine your child's recommended math course.

**NOTE**Liahona uses pre-common core curriculum (Saxon math among others). It is quite common for a student to be placed in a lower level than at previous schools.  Very likely, this is not a reflection of a student's abilities but a representation of the utilization of a different curriculum.

  • Accredited vs. Non-Accreditation

Students enrolled in grades 7-12 may choose to be accredited or non-accredited.

Accreditation follows the classic approach for schooling, requiring students to submit coursework for grading, passing tests, quizzes, etc.  Students are required to take and pass a proctored exam per semester and course to earn course credit.  Teachers will assign a final course grade at each semester's end.

Students grades 9-12 should choose to be accredited if seeking a high school diploma.

Non-accreditation facilitates homeschooling, allowing parents to oversee their student's learning.  Non-accredited students use Liahona's curriculum to assist parents in their homeschooling endeavors.  Parents assign final grades.

  • Intermediate Courses
