This art competition is for all children and young people up to 18 (living in Laois).
The sky is the limit and your artwork can be in any visual art medium such as, drawing, painting, lego, sculpture, print, collage, digital photography, mixed media, graffiti, etc.
Age categories are: Under 6 | 6-8 | 9-11 | 12-14 | 15-18
Children with varying abilities & backgrounds are especially welcome to enter and please get in touch if you need support with the application process or want to provide us with any additional information.
Prize:
Five winners will be selected and their artworks will be exhibited at Dunamaise Arts Centre café, and also available as a series of postcards.
The Competition opens on Wednesday 21st April and closes midnight Wednesday 25th May.
The Cruinniú na nÓg Laois Series: A Sense of Place Art Competition is supported by Creative Ireland Laois as part of the Creative Ireland Programme and in partnership with Laois County Council Arts Office and Dunamaise Arts Centre.
NOTE: If you are under 18, it is required that your Parent/Guardian provide consent to enter this Competition. A Parent/Guardian’s contact number will be required.
1. Fill in the Competition form
2. Upload 1 image of 1 artwork
3. Upload your image as a .jpeg or .png file, no larger than 2MB in size
4. Before you upload your image, you should rename it with:
- Your Name
- Title of Artwork
- Location of inspiration (if relevant) e.g. Ella Browne, Laois Skies, Abbeyleix
NOTES:
· Artworks without your name cannot be adjudicated.
· The original artwork should be retained and kept in a safe place in case the organisers require to professionally photograph it and / or scan it for print purposes
· Winners are required to make their original artwork available to the Dunamaise Arts Centre for photographing and / or scanning. If the original artwork entry is not available, it may deem your entry null and void. This will be at the discretion of the competition organisers – Laois Arts Office and Dunamaise Arts Centre
