    The 4th Annual DisabiliTease Festival will take place July 19-21, 2024 in a hybrid format.

    Due to our 2020 festival's quick pivot, performers who were accepted but unable to participate in the virtual festival will have the first right of refusal for a spot in the 2024 festival. After those confirmations, we will round out our 2024 festival line-up with acts from this application form. Scroll to the bottom of this page to apply!

    Application Fee
    None

    Performer Pay
    $75 for one act. Featured performers and the headliner will receive a higher rate.

    Travel notes
    Although we are unable to assist with travel costs, we are happy to provide letters of invitation to those of you considering applying for travel funding from your local arts organization. 

    Format
    Our Friday show will be in-person in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and will be live-streamed on Zoom.

    The Saturday show will be presented via Zoom with pre-recorded performances and a live emcee hosting from their respective locations.

    We will also be partnering with individuals and organizations across the globe to co-host official in-person watch parties. All content will be available for rent or purchase after being edited and captioned.

  • Act Submission Page

  • You can submit up to two acts (solo, duet, group) on one submission form. Only one act per applicant may be accepted.

    A note for live performers:

    The choreography and costuming submitted must be what is performed unless discussed with the production team. 

    Our venue does not have rigging for aerial or pole. Please email us if you would like to apply and have your own lollipop lyra or portable pole.

    Fire acts and acts that include spills or extra clean-up are not allowed.

    A note on our 2024 virtual performance format:

    The Saturday 2024 performances will be presented via pre-recorded content. This recording can be a single angle, multi-angle, or multimedia video presentation. Ideally, this would NOT be a video from an in-person show.

    This video submitted must be the version you want in the show. Only final act videos will be considered.

    Your video must meet the following requirements:

    • Created in a horizontal format in 1920x1080, 1080p (preferred) or 1280x700, 720p
    • Stable filming (unless for artistic impact)
    • Good lighting (unless for artistic impact)
    • No strobe/quick flashing lights
    • No pre-captioning (unless for artistic impact and pre-approved by the production team) - we will have a live captioner during the shows and will add closed captioning to all performances before they are available for rent/purchase.

    This application is for Performers - but there will be opportunities to support the DisabiliTease Festival behind the scenes as well. 

    Examples: writing press releases, engaging sponsors, helping organize watch parties or workshops, video editing, etc.
