    Pen loacation (size) will be determined by number and size of animals.

    ❖ There are few shaded areas, provide accordingly
    ❖ No power outlets, Generators are required for power
    ❖ NO Generators allowed under the barn or next to the barn
    ❖ Use separate form for breeding and market
    ❖ Use separate form for each species
    ❖ Judges and Show Management decisions are final

    Cattle can unload before 4:00 pm or after the conclusion of the pig show on Friday night. NO CATTLE CAN BE UNLOADED DURING THE PIG SHOW. On Saturday, Cattle trailers can enter the gates and be unloaded before 7:00 am OR after the conclusion of the breeding goat show. Once the sheep shows start, Cattle can be
    walked in and use the back entrance through the wash racks to get the ties. Tack can be unloaded after the conclusion of the goat show. This will keep from interrupting the other shows. Dairy/Beef Cattle do not have to arrive until Sunday, June 26th.

    ❖ Buckles for Overall Dairy Female, Overall Brahman Influence and Non-Brahman Influence Bull and Heifer, and

    ❖ No trim chutes in ties or walkways
    ❖ There are a few shaded areas, provide own shade
    ❖ We will have a miniature division

  • 2022 Watermelon Classic Livestock Show

    By submitting entries into the Watermelon Classic Livestock Show on June 24-26, 2022 at the Beauregard Parish Fair Grounds in DeRidder, La, the exhibitor and/or parent/guardian agree that themselves, their families, and guests do willing release any and all current and future claims against the Watermelon Classic Livestock Show, Beauregard Junior Livestock Association (known as BJLA), Beauregard Junior Livestock Association Show Committee/Board, Beauregard Parish Fair Grounds, Beauregard Parish Fair Board and Employees, Beauregard Parish Chamber of Commerce, City of DeRidder, Beauregard Parish, and Louisiana Junior Show Circuit (known as LJSC).


    Participants, parents/guardians, and their guest fully understand that transportation to and from the premises and/or entry onto the grounds, may result in exposure to other animals and/or diseases, including but not limited to, Covid-19. They will not hold any of the aforementioned persons, organizations, or anyone connected with the LJSC, BJLA, and/or Watermelon Classic Livestock Show liable for any claims for injuries and/or illness to humans or animals.


    Beauregard Parish Chamber of Commerce, Watermelon Classic Livestock Show, BJLA, and LJSC are making efforts to ensure safety of attendees but cannot guarantee the health of any participate, judge, volunteer, or spectator. Entry into the show and show grounds is at your own risk and by submitting entry you agree to hold harmless to any of the aforementioned person or organizations.

    Current Guidelines at the time of the show for the State of Louisiana and Beauregard Parish will be followed Social distancing should be practiced at all times.


    Attendance is discouraged if you have any of the following:
    • Tested positive for Covid-19
    • Have a comprised immune system
    • Have ANY symptoms of Covid-19
    • Have been exposed to someone who has tested positive for Covid-19
    • Have been out of the United States within the past 14 days

    The undersigned does hereby understand and agree the above mentioned or any person associated with the show will not be held responsible for accidents, injury, loss of items, etc. in anyway, and that I am attending at my own risk. I agree to follow all rules and code of ethics.

     

    I understand myself, the exhibitor, and animal photos may be used by the Louisiana Junior Show circuit, Beauregard Junior Livestock, or The Watermelon Festival.  

  • Policies for Exhibitor Conduct


    1. Obey all rules established by Watermelon Classic and all local, state, and federal laws.


    2. Respect all persons, facilities and vehicles. I will be responsible for any damage caused resulting from my behavior.


    3. Conduct myself in a courteous manner and be respectful of the authority of adults, volunteers, and others in leadership roles. Direct criticism or interference with the judge, show management, other exhibitors, species representatives or show officials before, during, or after the competitive event is PROHIBITED. No threatening remarks, either written or verbal, may be expressed at any time. This is to include, but not limited to,social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.


    4. Exhibitors shall use respectful language. No foul or abusive language or gestures will be tolerated.


    5. Possession of any unauthorized weapon or any drugs/paraphernalia is not allowed at or during Watermelon Classic Functions.


    6. Possession of alcohol or drinking of alcoholic beverages during Watermelon Classic Functions, and/or being under the influence by any underage exhibitor (minor) during Watermelon Classic Functions, is prohibited.


    7. No Smoking or Vaping in the barn. Violators will be escorted out of the barn.


    8. Use of fireworks or sparklers is prohibited during Watermelon Classic Functions.


    9. Any exhibitor, whose conduct jeopardizes the health and safety of another exhibitor, animal, or the public, will be immediately expelled from further participation in any and all Watermelon Functions. The exhibitor will be removed from the grounds immediately and lose the opportunity to show his or her animal(s) through Watermelon Classic. Health or Safety issues include, but are not limited to, the actions involving weapons, alcohol, illegal drugs, or fireworks, as mentioned above, and not caring for, i.e. feeding and watering, the exhibitor’s animal project.


    10. Violations of the Code of Conduct will result in immediate removal from the premises, disqualification of exhibitor, and disqualification for future Watermelon Classic events.


    11. Realizing these guidelines are not all inclusive, Watermelon Classic reserves the right to adjust these policies.
