Student Mission Commitment: Recognizing that I am going to engage in the great mission that Jesus Himself gave His disciples (Matthew 28:19-20), and that the stakes of this mission are eternal life and death, with God’s help, I commit to giving my best effort on this trip in service to Jesus and His mission, stepping outside my comfort zone and challenging myself to be obedient to Jesus’ call to mission; to treating my leaders and fellow students with respect and grace, following my leaders’ directions quickly and thoroughly as well as building up my teammates through my words and actions; to working hard during daily activities and resting well during downtime, focusing on the task at hand and not getting side-tracked; to resolving conflict with another student or leader with patience and compassion, being eager to extend forgiveness and willing to admit fault where it exists; to being flexible throughout the trip, understanding that plans can change and being willing to adapt with changing circumstances; to maintaining personal devotional time in God’s Word and in prayer, knowing that I must depend on God for strength and wisdom; to approaching every opportunity, whether easy or difficult, with energy, determination, and the expectation that God will work powerfully through me according to His will as I submit to His direction.
