Gavin McDonald Trade School Scholarship
  • We created this scholarship to honor of our son who passed away in 2020 from and aggressive and complicated battle with cancer. An Idaho native, Gavin grew up in the Wood River Valley where he graduated from Wood River High School and went on to study cabinetry and woodworking at CSI. was member of 4H for many years, culminating in winning reserve Grand Champion in Fitting and Showing then Grand-Champion for Quality, both in market beef.

The wild outdoors of Idaho were his playground and he split his time between Stanley and Kimberly attending college, working, playing and running his herd of Black Angus cattle. If you couldn't find him there, he was probably home in Hailey, hanging out with his family, hunting, fishing, mixing a wicked country playlist, planning a bonfire or just driving a backroad with friends.  We hope to perpetuate his joyful passion, appreciation and care of animals, helpful consideration of others and creative curiosity through this scholarship and those it serves.

We look forward to your application,

    Rain & David McDonald
