Training questions
Dogs require a lot of love, but most importantly, care. What care do you feel is appropriate to enable your dog to lead a happy, healthy, and safe life?
*
Lack of physical activity can create a difficult and destructive environment for some dogs. How will you exercise your dog daily to ensure they can exert their excess energy?
*
training a rescue dog
You are applying for a rescue dog which means that this animal has an unknown past. As a result of their unknown past, these dogs can potentially regress for a period of time after adoption because of all the changes which leads to stress. They can have temporary issues with potty training, social anxiety, separation anxiety, or food aggression.
Most of these behaviors are *temporary* and will resolve as the dog becomes more comfortable in his or her new home.
While neither we nor our fosters are certified trainers, we do our best to find out as much as we can about our pups and their behaviors while they are in foster care, but all of our dogs will at least require minimal training. Others may require more extensive/intensive training to curb unwanted behaviors.
What methods do you use or are planning to use for training and consistency of your new pup? (not potty training)
