  • Maryland Go Gray in May: Traumatic Brain Injury Awareness

Hi I’m Tahjai Ward and I’m a survivor of Traumatic Brain Injury. By the time I was 19, I had a tumor removed from a dangerous area of my brain as a result of a Traumatic Brain Injury, or TBI.  1.7 million people experience Traumatic Brain Injuries every year. In 2020, 64,362 people died from a TBI.  While some TBIs occur when the brain experiences sudden trauma or damage, like blows to the head or violent jolts, there are some cases where they don’t know why they develop, like what happened to me.  Join me Saturday, May 13th for the 3rd Annual Go Gray in May 5K Walk to raise money for the Brain Injury Association of Maryland. For more information, go to info@marylandgograyinmay.org

  • Hi I am LaTasha Ward. I am a mother of a survivor of Traumatic Brain Injury, or TBI. My daughter Tahjai underwent surgery at the age of 19 to remove a tumor from a dangerous part of her brain. There are Traumatic Brain Injuries where they don’t know why they happen, like what happen to Tahjai. Some of the symptoms include severe headaches, loss of balance and loss of consciousness. If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, it is best to seek medical care immediately. Don’t wait… because it can save your life. Join us Saturday, May 13th for the 3rd Annual Go Gray in May 5K Walk to raise money for the Brain Injury Association of Maryland. To get involved email me at: lward@solidfoundationinc.org
