How it works
Anyone is welcome to shop at the Amherst Mobile Market anytime using cash, credit, SNAP, HIP, WIC, or Senior Farmers Market coupons. It is not required that you are signed up for a farm share to shop at the market. However, if you would like an easy way to ensure that you get fresh produce every week at a price that works for you, please use this form to sign up for a share. Share sign-ups end on June 30, 2022.
About the share:
Shares consist of $15 worth of your choice of fruits and vegetables, though your choice may be limited if you sign up for boxed share delivery. Most produce is sustainably grown by local farms, and we often supplement with tropical produce to accommodate a variety of food cultures.
Share payment options:
There are three ways to pay for your share:
- SNAP with HIP reimbursement: If you choose this option, you will be able to reserve a share using this form, but you will need to fill out paperwork the first time you come to pick up your share to complete payment. The cost of the share will be automatically deducted and reimbursed in your SNAP account each month, which is essentially the same as the share being free for you (assuming you choose a price lower than your monthly HIP cap). This automatic payment processing will begin in July and continue through November, 2022, meaning that one final payment will be processed after market the season is over. For more information about the HIP program, click here.
- Credit card: If you choose this option, you can reserve a share and pay using this form. You can either choose to pay the full price right now or pay half the price right now and get a reminder to pay the second half by August 13.
- Cash or check: If you choose this option, you can reserve a share using this form and you will be asked to bring a full or half payment the first time you pick up your share. You will be reminded to bring payment for the second half by August 13.
Share price options:
- No cost share: $0 per week, restricted to customers who are low income and ineligible to receive SNAP (food stamps).
- Low cost share: $5 per week, recommended for households of one or two receiving SNAP or eligible to receive SNAP.
- Fair share: $15 per week, or the market price of the share. Recommended for households of 3 - 5 receiving SNAP and moderate income customers.
- Support a neighbor share: $25 per week. Recommended for customers with wiggle room in their budgets who want to support their food insecure neighbors.
