The CSA Theatre compANY is a pre-professional theatre training programming for students ages 8-18 that consists of classes in theatre, music, dance, and theatre production. In addition to training opportunities, the CSA Theatre compANY performs and produces 3-4 performances a season.

compANY Requirements

All applicants must complete full application.

Theatre compANY - Theatre Performance Focus

Cost: $75 plus monthly tuition for classes

*CSA student company members receive 20% off all monthly class tuition fees.

Class requirements: compANY Acting class, Vocal elective class, Dance elective class, compANY rehearsals
Other requirements: Participate in all show load-ins and strikes

**A student may choose to take a weekly private vocal or dance lesson in place of a group class. Private lessons are not subject to discounts.

Theatre compANY - Theatre Production Focus

Cost: $75 plus monthly tuition for classes

*CSA student company members receive 20% off all monthly class tuition fees.

Class requirements: Theatre compANY Production Class(level 1 or 2), two theatre related elective courses, compANY rehearsals
Other requirements: 10 hours of production work time per semester, participate in all show load-ins and strikes

**CSA Theatre compANY tuition is included in full for students in the CSA Arts Academy Program.

Audition/Interview Procedures

Student Audition -

August 15th 5:30-8:00pm

Audition/Interview Procedures

Theatre Production Focus students will be required to complete an interview with compANY leadership about past production experience and/or skills and experience they hope to attain. No audition required.

CSA will schedule a time for an interview.

Theatre Performance Focus students are required to complete an audition.

Students 12 and under should have one monologue, and 16 bars of a contrasting Broadway or Pop song. Students 13 and older should have two contrasting monologues, and 16 bars of a contrasting Broadway or Pop song. Both must be memorized. Feel free to use a monologue of your choice, sample monologues can be found here.

TIME YOURSELF AT HOME! You have 5 minutes TOTAL to audition, you need to tailor your audition selections to fit within this time allowance while still including all required elements.

Dress is professional attire (as if you want in the compANY).

DURING THE AUDITION

PREPARE a Slate! (Introduction) “Your Name / Your Age / Your School / Your Selections.” Your time will start after you give your slate.

IN ORDER TO AUDITION, you must have an audition form completed. You may not have an audition number until the paperwork is completed.

By submitting this application, I understand that: I will be considered for a place in the compANY and that if I am accepted into the program, I will attend all required rehearsals, classes, meetings and performances and all other policies and requirements in the compANY handbook. I also understand that if there are any conflicts above—performance “boundaries,” availability, etc.—I may not be cast in certain shows or be asked to join the compANY, but I’ve indicated these conflicts as accurately as I can.
