Integrity Check
Are the following statements true? If not, how will you address it?
Yes! We Have Integrity!
No. We Need to Work on This
UNIVERSAL PURPOSE OF ORGANIZATIONS: The mission of the organization is aligned with the universal purpose of institutions to empower human beings to reach their own unique highest and fullest potential by addressing a basic human right or need.
MISSION STATEMENT: There is a clearly articulated 4-part mission statement.
VISION STATEMENT: There is a clear written vision for the business or organization.
CORE BELIEFS, GUIDING PRINCIPLES AND VALUES: The core beliefs, guiding principles and values have been articulated.
SPECTRUM-BASED VIEW OF HUMANITY: The mission, vision, core beliefs, guiding principles and values were created with a spectrum-based, inclusive view of humanity in mind.
UNDERSTANDS BASIC HUMAN BEHAVIOR: The mission, vision, core beliefs, guiding principles and values reflect a basic understanding of human rights, human needs, human development, and decision-making. (I.E. An organization that is dedicated to empowering youth to make healthy decisions, but advocates for criminalization of teenage smoking to meet its mission does not reflect a basic understanding of adolescent development, decision-making or the impacts of criminalization on children and families.)
DOES NOT ENGAGE IN OPPRESSION: The business or organization’s mission, vision, core beliefs, guiding principles, and values do not include: Harming the dignity, self-worth, self-respect, or self-awareness of any person; Attempting to eliminate or use coercion to assume control or ownership of a person’s body, mind or soul; Interfering with anyone’s basic human rights, including the rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness; Restricting access to basic human needs; Preventing learning, growth or free will; or Creating permanent “others” or “othering”.
